Best way to the Boardwalk from POP?

I'm planning to explore the Boardwalk area after checking into the Pop Century. Without thinking it through, I'd planned to ride the bus to MK, then the monorail to Epcot and walk or take a boat from there. However, I don't want to use a day's admission to get to the International Gateway and I don't think I can get to the boats or walkway otherwise. I have a car but prefer WDW transportation - I can drive over if it really is the best option. Suggestions?

Take the POP bus to MGM. From there you can walk (about 15 minutes) or take teh boat. The boat stops at the Swan/Dolphin and the YC/BC before arriving at the BW. It's a nice ride but will take a little longer than walking.

The walking path is across the canal from the MGM boat dock.

P.S. No need to use a day of admission to go via MGM.
