I'm looking for the least amount of time in line/waiting and good seats. Haha, I know, want much? Should we do dinner package or FP+? We are doing this on arrival day, entering HS hopefully by 4 pm. Thanks for any input!

Dinner package.

FP+ is useless and will not get you good seats. Dinner package allows you to enter 30 mins before the show and you get seats in the middle section. The ADRs are only available until I believe 5 PM so you could potentially be cutting it tight.

It depends what time Fantasmic is. We have a Fantasmic ADR at 6:15 on 4/19 since the show doesn't start till 8:30.

Does the fantasmic dinner package take two dining credits?

It depends, if you get the Fantasmic dinner at Hollywood & Vine or Mama Melrose it is only one credit but if get the Fantasmic dinner at The Hollywood Brown Derby it is 2 credits.

Does the package cost more than regular meals?

You have to do an Entree and either an appetizer or dessert. That's the rule, so you could pick the cheapest of each. If you're a couple, get two entrees, one app, one dessert, and you're golden.

But yes, this still seems to be the best option, particularly if you were going to eat in the park anyway. Basically a free FastPass.

I'm confused. I'm not sure we've ever ordered appetizer or dessert, just our entree... and we've done the fantasmic package before. Why would we HAVE to buy an appetizer or dessert with our entree? Is this a new rule or am I misunderstanding what you are saying? :)

Where are the seats for Fast pass plus?

Could be anywhere except the good reserved section in the middle for DP, but most often seems to be way out on the edge. Seriously, don't blow an FP on this. :goodvibes

At Brown Derby, it's a fixed price meal and it includes an appetizer, entree and dessert, plus your "priority" seating for the show. We love the Brown Derby, so it's a must on our vacations. I believe it works the same at Mama Melrose's and Hollywood & Vine.

So IF we don't do the dining package, we should just line up like regular folks, right? No FP+. I'm gonna assume that the second show would be less crowded, if scheduled. When do most people line up? 1/2 hour before? 2 hours before? Does EMH have any effect on number of shows or crowds?

Keep in mind that, with the layout of the venue and triple water screens, really all seats are good. Exception would be the rows down close to the water. On a breezy or windy night, depending on wind direction, you may get damp, wet or soaked. Maybe good in July and August, but cooler months, probably not.

Unless things have changed since January, it is also a 3 course meal at Mama Melrose. If you're on DDP it's a good deal b/c you just pay 1 dining credit, but you get to choose an appetizer, an entree, and then they bring a preplated dessert selection at the end. If you're not on DDP there is a flat fee for F! package, like at a buffet.

It was the same in Feb, set price ($34 I think) for app, entree, and dessert, as well as drink, at Mama Melrose. I had an excellent entree (the steak) and dessert, but service and the app (tomato and mozzarella) were terrible. And it took forever, but the reserved section was worth it, especially on a one show night!

All sections to the left of the two Dinner Package sections are for those with Fp+.

All sections to the right of the Dinner Package sections are for standby guests.

This isn't the way the F! dining package works. It is a fixed price no matter what you order.

At MM and HBD, the package includes app, entree and dessert. The dessert at MM is a dessert sampler served to the table, at HBD you order it individually.
