Best way to purchase Annual Pass

Me and my friends was all residents of Southern California and we're going to Disneyland in 1 week on June 1st. We want to get the Deluxe Annual Passport and get on the monthly payment plan. Per the Disneyland website, an annual pass can be purchased at the ticket window with a down payment of 1 day admission ($81)

The problem for us is that we want to bypass the line at the ticket window. If we buy our tickets at the ticket window, we have to stand in line at the ticket booth then stand in line again at the annual pass place.

We could buy the annual pass online and bring it to the turnstile, but my friend's current annual pass doesn't expire until May 31. We want our passes to renew at the same time. We were thinking about just buying a park hopper ticket ($125) and upgrading to an annual passport, but don't know how the monthly payments would work if we did that. Would the monthly payments be less since we're paying more upfront?

Any advice would be welcome. Thanks!

Yes, they will apply the $125 to the price of the annual pass and divide the rest of the cost between 12 months. So you will pay less per month.

I have read that if you upgrade your regular ticket to an AP you are not given the option of paying monthly payments. You would be required to pay the balance at that time.

I also read that you can set up your ap online with payment plan option & that your ap wont be valid until your first visit & the 12 months start from that day. So you could have your ap's start on the same day if your first is the same day she renews her ap. If I am incorrect pleade correct me on this felloow dissers :)

Oops, forgot to say that you will still have to visit the ticket booths at some point to upgrade to the AP. So you end up not waiting in line in the morning, but still waiting in line at some point that day.

You can upgrade your ticket to an AP and do monthly payments ( as long as you are a Californian). They apply the amount paid from the ticket to the cost of the AP and divide the amount due by 12 months.

However, if you decide later to upgrade your AP to a higher level, you must pay the difference upfront, you cannot just add it to your monthly payment. This only applies to upgrading APs, not upgrading tickets.

Thanks for letting me know I haven't read this. :)
