Best way to pin trade

I too am hoping to find 10 pins for our weeks stay

I gave my older kids 10 each day and carried a few for myself, DS6 and my husband. One of the kids only traded three or four during the week. Another would trade a lot some days and none others. DS17 went through his 10 each day and begged for more. We easily used 25 - 30 per day between the six of us.

We really had fun with this and I would have hated to limit them too much. They did get some terrific pins.

Here's what I do when I see something I want on ebay. I hope I can explain it okay (I'm not very good at it sometimes...)

First, find what you like, decide how much you want to spend, then place that amount in the box when you place your bid. You will then be bidding by proxy, which means that you will only be bidding up each increment until you reach your maximum. Then I wait and see. It's best NOT to check on the bid until after it ends so you aren't tempted to bid up "just one more dollar"... and then spend over your limit.

Also, it's best to look at what's being offered before placing a bid. Many times I've seen identical items being bid on, and one price will be sky high and the other low. Sometimes I think that people get obsessed about outbidding the competition, and you can get burned that way!

Just approach it as having fun. If you win, you win. If not, then have fun looking at what else is being offered. It can be addicting! Good luck!
