Thinking ahead and wondering the smoothest way to purchase park tickets and MVMCP tickets online with gift cards? I know there is the gift card site where we can enter our gift cards and (I think) combine them? And then there's the Disney Vacation Account where I believe contributions can be made via gift cards?
Is the gift card site helpful in organizing them and combining them before loading them into the Disney Vacation Account? Or is that even necessary? I'm expecting a $200 card, and hopefully two $500 cards (if Sam's ever has them in stock again). If the $500 ones aren't available, I'll have to get several of the 3-packs ($150) and maybe two $50 ones. Am I correct that I can combine these balances into one card as long as it doesn't exceed $1,000?
Come to think of it, is the Disney Vacation Account even necessary?

I'm thinking too much. Someone just tell me the easiest way to pay with gift cards. :)

I think the DVA is only worth it if you spend more than $2000. If you're not spending that I would avoid it. I think you can have the gift cards on both the DVA account and the disneygiftcards dot com. And you are correct, you can combines balances

You might want to check Sam's in store for the gc. I know it's out of stock online, but my local Sam's had plenty in store. IMO every penny is worth the effort, so we are using the DVA to combine our gift cards and pay because they give you a reward for every $1000 you spend (if I remember correctly). Not a huge savings but it adds up over time.

Yeah, I'm trying to think if I saw them when I was there a couple of weeks ago. I *think* I did see some.
I kind of wanted to buy them online via Chase's portal because that would earn me another 2% back (on top of the 5% if I'm using my Freedom card during a quarter with wholesale clubs included). But we'll see! I'll do the $150 3-packs if I must. I'm all about cash back!

I have a Chase Freedom card as well. I'm not familiar with the Chase portal you're referring to in order to get an additional 2% back. How do I get that discount? I know the quarterly 5% will come automatically in my rewards.

It's called Shop Through Chase. When you're logged into your Chase account, click on "Earn Points" at the top of the page and a menu drops down. One of the items on that menu is Shop Through Chase. Click on that and you'll see all of the stores you can shop at online through Chase and how much cash back/points you can earn from shopping there. Sam's is 2% extra cash back.

Just as a follow-up, I read the fine print on the Shop Through Chase for Sam's, and it says not eligible for gift cards. Boooo!
Oh well.

We just did this today-activated our Chase Freedom 5% back for the quarter, spent $1429.80 on 10 3x$50 gc bundles (for a total of $150 priced at $142.98) and loaded them into my DVA. It took some doing to type in 30 gc numbers but figure between the 5% back (from Chase), the 4% off the gift card and 2% back from DVA (I always add to my DVA up to the nearest 1000 denomination to get the full benefit of the bonus), it will be a nice little savings. Took a bit of time and effort but worth it.
