Best way to mail a bracelet for repair

I need to send a bracelet to John Hardy in NJ for repair. Any thoughts on the best way to mail it since it needs a decent amount ($1,000) of insurance?

NOT USPS Priority...... their tracking still leaves a LOT to be desired.
I'd take it to a place that handles FedEx and UPS and see which is cheaper. If you pack it yourself, use the smallest box you can as dimensions count in the price calculation for UPS (and probably FedEx)

FedEx or UPS, I would never ever use the USPS to deliver something valuable, even with insurance.

Check the UPS and FedEx websites... the shipping will not be expensive compared to the price of the insurance $$$... Do not be surprised if it is $50.00 or more to ship. Make sure you have proof as in a receipt that what you are shipping is worth what you claim as if it is lost the require a list of the contents and proof of value. Your best bet is to go to staples or such when you find a price you are happy with as other places including the FedEx or UPS store are privately owned and can charge high fees on top of the rate you get online these are not set by the carrier.
