Best way to get to MK for early BOG reservation?

We are staying off-site for the first time ever. Have an early BOG breakfast and are getting dropped off at MK. What is the shortest way to get there? Can we be dropped off at the gate or do we have to trek from TTC? Would it be better to get dropped off at the Contemporary and walk? GF and monorail?

thanks!
Barbara

I think I'd get dropped of at contemporary and just walk - that way you don't have to worry about monorail breakdowns. I don't think the ferry starts early enough.

In a couple of weeks we also have an early BOG ADR and we are staying at the Polynesian. Since it sounds like the monorail won't be running early enough to make the ADR we plan to take a taxi to the Contemporary and walk to MK. From what I've read on the boards a taxi won't/can't take you directly to the MK.

I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong), that the resort monorail will be running early enough. It's the express that starts later. It would be insane for Disney to leave deluxe guests with no way to get to an early ADR.

The resort monorail starts running at 7:00.

If the monorail is down for some reason, they will have buses. There's no need to take a cab unless you just really want to.

Thanks so much - a brisk walk before breakfast actually sounds like the best plan!

For info, we got on a ferry to MK for a BOG reservation at 7.20am yesterday. I know there was at least one ferry journey that went before ours

I hope the monorail starts running at 7:00am. I keep seeing that the monorail is on a modified schedule and they don't start running until later in the morning on some days. For example, we are going to MK on a Tuesday and according to a schedule I saw on other websites the resort monorail starts running at 8:30am and the express monorail starts running at 9:30am. But, I don't know for sure. I was going to ask at the front desk when we check in at the Poly. The only reason we'd take a taxi is because DH hates the buses. But I think he could handle the short trip to MK! :)

Thanks for the info! I guess we could walk to the TTC from the Poly and take a ferry.

Never ask about transportation at the front desk - there's a good chance that they won't know and will give you incorrect info. Ask a monorail CM.

If the Resort Monorail doesn't start at 7:00 AM,it is "possible" they will be running the boats in addition to buses.:)
