Yes, I think that is the best way to get there.
We went on Monday night. (21st)
To give you an idea of how it timed out for us, in case it helps you any (lights turned on at 5:45, party began at 7:00, so adjust times accordingly)
We stopped to get a bite to eat at Catering Co. at about 5:00.
About 5:40 or so I walked over to the check in area to see if they were checking folks in. I had gotten info from someone attending an earlier show they were lining up at 6:00 and got in sometime between 6:30 and 6:45
Sure enough, they were checking folks in and already had about 10 folks in line to enter.
About the same moment I checked in and got in line the lights turned on. Turned out to be a good spot to see the lights turn on.
They did let us in about 6:45 so I did stand there about an hour but we swapped out and took turns standing (our choice to stay put vs. wander somewhere else). I wanted to be sure to get one of the seated tables vs. standing so I used my time to do that
By 6:45, the line to get in was very long.
Our party was not sold out as there were tables unused that night so it turned out that I probably didn't have to check in as early as I did but we never took a break that day so it was a nice way to just relax for a bit
It's really pretty quiet back in that spot
