So excited about our upcoming trip :) :)

Anyway, we have dinner at the Grand Floridian on our first night. We are staying in the cabins.

Would you recommend taking the ferry (I guess to MK and then from MK to GF?)? Or should we drive? Or is there another route that you would recommend?

Thanks y'all!!

You could take the ferry to the Contemporary, then the monorail to the GF. You could take the boat to MK then the boat to GF. Or you can drive. Driving is probably fastest.

If you have time like WN said, maybe take the MK boat and then the boat to the GF . On the way back the monorail to CR and the boat to The Fort. Great way to start your trip.

Sounds like a plan! We're driving in from Destin that day - but I know no of us will be able to sleep, due to excitement, so we should be hitting the road pretty early :)

I agree with the boat to CR and then the boat to GF. Return by monorail to CR and boat to the Fort. Don't drive....part of the "Magic" is to go on the boat and the monorail. Just give yourself time as there might well be a wait for transportation.

I think that's what we'll do - boat to CR and then monorail to GF. Depending on the timing, we might try boat from GF to MK and boat from MK to fort on the way home. We took the boat home from MK last year right during the fireworks and were able to get a 'private' show on the ferry. Perfect ending to our night. It would be awesome for that to work out for us.

How long do you think it will take to do ferry to CR, then monorail over to GF?

Actually, it's a small boat that would take you to the CR, then depending on whether the monorail is just pulling in when you get there will determine the time it will take to get there. The boats and monorail run about every 15-20 min. apart, so to be on the safer side, and not worry, I would allow an hour, or more.

It usually doesn't take that long, but you do have some walking involved. Also, you need to check in 15 min. early.
