Arriving MCO in June at 3:10. Taking ME to CSR. Planning on heading over to the Boardwalk from there. Question #1: what is the best way to get there? Bus to HS and boat to BW? Bus to any park and resort bus to BW? Taxi (how much $)? We will not have park tickets that day so cutting thru Epcot is out. How late can we stay at the BW and still get back to CSR (using the above travel options?) Question #2: once we get to the BW, we would like to eat at the ESPN club. Since they don't accept ADR's, what are our chances of snagging a table? How long is the usual wait on a Sat. night in June? I know there are other places to eat there, but DH & DS have wanted to go here each trip and we've never fit it in so arrival night this trip has been designated. I know to allow two hours between arriving at MCO & getting to the BW but wasn't sure about the rest.

CSR is down the road from the Boardwalk, but too far to walk! I would do bus to HS and boat to BW. Taxi would probably be about $7-$10, I have taken a taxi from the Poly to POFQ and the Poly to BC and each time it was about $15 and that is a little bit of a longer ride.

This might be useful to you!

A few years back, my DS 16 and I walked into a nearly deserted ESPN for an early dinner. As far as snagging a table, depends upon the time and what sporting event may be on TV.

Have a magical trip. :wizard:

That web site is out of date and has some incorrect information.

I would take a bus to HS and either take a boat to BW or walk. There is a nice walking path, that is lighted. It is a pleasant 15 -20 minute walk, if it is not too hot. I would then take a taxi home after dinner.

ESPN is busiest when there is a major sporting event going on. I think you shouldn't have a problem in June getting a table, maybe a bit of a wait.
There are tables in the bar area as well, and you can choose to sit there rather than the dining room, if you wish. Sometimes that is quicker. If there are lines, the bar is a second line, if needed.

Jelly Rolls, the dueling piano bar at the other end of the Boardwalk, is open late = 2 AM, I think. There is transportation to get those folks home. There is a taxi stand right at the Main Entrance of the Boardwalk Inn,

The only major sporting events going on during a Saturday in June would be Major League Baseball games, so there shouldn't be a major line up of people waiting to be seated. However they can can still be busier then usual because it's still a Saturday night, although if there are high top tables or booths available on their bar side you can walk right in and sit down. The reason is that side always has open seating. Now if you need to wait for a table on their dining room side in my experience doing that this past December on a Saturday night, I waited between 5 - 10 minutes.

It's possible there could be a NASCAR event on a saturday night in June

We are staying at BWVs Aug/Sep and my ds has also requested we eat at ESPN.
I never knew there were two seating areas.
Can anyone please tell me if you can see the TVs on in the regular seating (not bar area)? He may want to sit in the bar area but will be good to know either way.
Thanks so much!

Not a big fan but I believe the NBA playoffs are on then which depending on who is in could be a big draw.

There are t.v's in each booth (like your personal tv) and you can ask the waiter/waitress to change your tv to a certain sporting event. when we were there we asked to switch the tv to a hockey game that we knew was on (we are canadian)...it was awesome we watched our game while the other t.v's were playing another sporting event. my ds and dh loved it there...even the bathrooms have tv's...it is now a must do for every trip!

NBA playoffs will definitely be going on in June. The finals can go as late as the last week of the month. But I'm not sure how bad that makes the crowds. Probably it does depend very much on who's playing. I'm sure you'll enjoy dinner regardless!

WOW! Thanks so much! This is great news. We are staying at BWVs and this may be a place we do twice.
Thanks!

I thought the majority of Nascar Nextel Cup races happened on Sunday and not Saturday.

Oh I forgot about them and June is also when the Stanley Cup Finals in the NHL takes place. Although both events could be finished by the time the OP goes there.

Thanks for all the feedback. Sounds like we'll be ok either in the main dining area or the bar. Looking forward to getting the boys in the family to their one request so the rest of the week can be about the girls!

I have been when even the bar was full, and the was a line waiting for the high top tables in the bar area as well. They are not always available, even with open seating. For a popular event, folks get there early, take the open seating tables and linger. In this case there is one line for the dining room and a second line for the bar area.

To Piggyback this question ~ our last day of our trip is a Wednesday. Our flight is at 4 pm, so we will probably have to get on ME by 1 pm. I am hoping to do lunch at ESPN...what are the hours (would they be open at 11??) and, would it be crowded on a Wednesday early morning/afternoon?

They open at 11:30 AM and when I have been there on a Wednesday I have never seen a line up to get in at that time.
