Best way to get from FW to MK EMM

We have tickets to Early Morning Magic at MK one morning during our upcoming May trip. What is the best way to get from Fort Wilderness to the Magic Kingdom for the 7:45 start? I'd like to be there with plenty of time to spare. Should we hop on the boat to the Contemporary and walk over, or is there a better way?

THANKS!

Boat to Contemporary starts at 6:45 am. The walk from Contemporary to MK is no more than 10 minutes. We have used this for RD and early AM breakfasts prior to park opening on 4 occasions with no problems at all.

The boat from the Fort to MK starts 30 minutes before opening. In this case that would be 7:15. Given that it takes about 10 minutes to get there and assuming you are on the FIRST boat, you are looking at getting to the MK dock at 7:25 or 7:30. Bag check, ticket check and then the walk to the "Hub" for RD... You could make it but I don't think it will leave you with Plenty of Time to spare.

Now I think the boat to the CR route may be a bit longer time wise, but you can start that at 6:30 which could get you at the MK (boat ride and walking in about 30 minutes or so) to do your Bag and ticket check by about 7 AM.

It is about 30 or so minutes round trip. At times we have seen 2 boats running. You'd really need to get the first one to make MK at 7:45.

The OP is going to the early morning magic which is the separate ticket event that occurs before regular park opening. The park would open at 9 so the MK boat will begin operating at 8:30. Best option is to take the contemporary boat and walk to MK.

Seems to me that since the Transportation is for RESORT guests (mostly) and that EMH is for RESORT guests only, that the time would still be a half an hour before opening for Resort guests. Thus if there is EMH then it would be 30 minutes prior to that time.

That being said, we don't generally do the morning EMH so this has never been an issue for us. The only thing we have done in the past is had an early morning reservation for breakfast (CRT) before the park officially opened. We did nothing special except take the normal boat over. Worked our way to the front and into the park. (Very magical to walk down main street with virtually NOBODY around to photo bomb the pictures). We made it with plenty of time to spare. This was about 4 years ago. In all honesty, I don't recall the times. I just recall asking what time we could get the boat to make the reservations.

You're confusing EMH with early morning magic. 2 different things.

So the park opens at 9 when they have early morning magic. Early morning magic is like having a pre park opening ADR.

Thank y'all! We'll plan on the boat to the contemporary! Gonna be an early start- my blood pressure is already going up just thinking about getting all these people out on time!!

Yes and I'd try to be there by 6:45 to catch the first boat. Good luck with your group!

Yup... You are right. EMH and EMM are 2 different. (one is included in guest stay and one is a "purchase" option. Less like an "ADR" and more like an "Event" such as MNSSHP or MVMCP (but to a lesser degree I think). I was thinking about EMH (Extra Magic Hours and not Emergency Medical Hologram for you Trekies. :D )

You got that right.

I thought we had a lot in the Military....
Then I got into working in IT (Information Technology) and the acronyms got crazier.
Now i work for a Governmental Agency... Multiply the acronyms by about 1000. They make Acronyms just to make Acronyms I think. :crazy2:

It's been a while, but we took an internal bus to the Settlement stop. Walked a few steps to the transfer to WL stop, hopped on the Orange bus NOW it's the YELLOW bus, to WL then the MK bus from the same stop.
