Best way to get from Amtrak to Hotel or Car Rental?

I'm going to be arriving in San Diego via the Amtrak from Anaheim. I will be renting a car in San Diego, but what is the best way to get from the Amtrak station to either the hotel (on Hotel Drive) or to a car rental agency?

Are there any car rentals close to the station?

You, should, try and get a cab it will be better and faster, car rental place my also offer a pick up service

The Avis nearest to Hotel Circle will probably pick you up........Hertz HLE locations (city, not airport) will usually pay your cab fare. Details on their websites, just click on "Locations" and find the one nearest the zip code of your hotel.
Note that "downtown" car rental offices will usually only be open weekdays and until 6pm , so depends on your arrival time, too.
