A few friends and I are heading out to Cedar Point next week. We will be comming out of NY/PA on I-90. Just wondering if anyone who has done it a few times could pass on some of their knowlage :D
TIA

You can drive straight through downtown Cleveland on I-90 or you can swing south on I-271 to I-480 and then on to the Ohio Turnpike. Both routes are about the same mileage and time. If I were you, I would probably just take I-90 (even though Microsoft Streets & Trips favors I-271/I-480).

What time of day and day of the week will you be passing through?

ummm... i think we are going to try to Leave the buffalo area around 8 or 9 am, so i'm guessing we should arrive in the cleveland area around noonish.
We went to CP 2 years ago, and we just stayed on I-90, but this year I went to AAA to get the tickets there, so i asked for a triptick since I was there, and they told me to go from 90 to 270 then get on 80/pa tpk. But if it takes the same amout of time just to stay on I-90 i think we should do that...

If there is anyone else that has any more comments to add or sudjest please do :)

I agree with Towncrier. I would just stay on I-90. If you are going to be going through Cleveland around noon, you should be fine and not run into too much traffic. I live only about 10 mins from CP right off I-90. Just a straight shot. Have a great time!!:D

Another vote for staying on I-90, especially with the construction going on around I-480 these days.

There will a few of us dis'ers there next Friday and more on Saturday

yes i did see that, but I will be there with my friends on tuesday (and maybe monday night)

Jimmy,

You drive right past my house (well, a few blocks away) when you go past the Crocker- Bassett exit on I-90 West. You should do well that time of day but keep the speed below 63 or so as the police love to wait behind the overpass barriers and also use radar on the median. There are a bunch of dips and rises so you don't see them till it is too late. I drive that road everyday I work. Doesnt' matter what time of day or night they love to wait. Lots of business on that road.

Enjoy CP. Hope the weather is great for you. It was wonderful here today. Just a perfect Ohio summer day.

oh, i forgot about this thread.... just thought I would up-date you. we actually left Buffalo and little later then i thought.. hahaha, and hit cleveland around 4ish (right at the start of rush hour), but traffic didnt stop at all (it picked up a bit after that crazy 90 degree turn  ) but we made the whole trip on 90 (and then 2 after it split west of Cleve.) without any construction hold ups!!! i was supprised, compaird to our last two trips the past two summer (two years ago to CP, and last year to worlds of adventure).

and then the way back went just as good :bounce:

so thank you all for your advice, i'm glad we didnt go all the way down to I-80 :D
