Hi All,

We are brand new to the food allergy scene and this will be are first trip where we need to carry an epi pen with us. I know they shouldn't get to hot or cold. So going in the hot summer sun for a week how do you keep it temperate?

TIA

Our daughter just puts hers in the bag she is carrying that day and has no problems at all with them. She is in the medical field and doesn't worry about the summer heat in Florida since you are in the heat and then in the AC. We go in Aug. every year. Just pack it in whatever bag you take and you shouldn't have any trouble.

I carry one in my cargo pocket and DW carries another in her purse. I also keep a couple in the hotel room. Never had any concerns about it. I also live in the desert where it gets over 100 degrees in the summer. Never had any issues at home either.

I just joined the Food Allergy community too, just before our first trip to WDW! There went my dream of eating at Teppan Edo and getting fish and chips in Great Britain. (fish allergy) :( Anyway, I went to the website of the makers of Epi Pens and you can sign up with them and they will send you a free carry case that holds 2 epi pens. It is zipper bag with a hook and it clearly marked. It feels like it might be sort of insulated. Kind of feels like those soda can insulators that go over your can.

I've decided that should be good enough for WDW in my purse or back pack. I also keep them in there in my purse all the time here at home too. It keeps them together, is easy to grab, and it was free!

There is also a newer, super small pocket sized one made by a different company. We flew with both kinds but just took the small one into the parks. We also carried the rapid melt Benadryl so it was super light weight.
