Best way to book flights?

I HATE flying... yes, really hate. I've only done it once and was so nervous the whole time but yeah, here we go again. DH wants to fly to Disney this time.

I have no idea how to find cheap flights. Any recommendations on where to go through or how to get deals? We're looking at going in the beginning of March possibly. Would it be better to go in February? I'm worried about weather (we live in Wisconsin). TIA!

Weather is way too unpredictable to tell you when you "should" go, but February is more 'einter' tthan March is; plus, the person who can predict (or control ;)) the weather eight months from now would be rich :).

Search for airfare using www.kayak.com and www.southwest.com, but buy directly from the airlines (SWA doesn't allow its fares to be shown even on search engines, while pretty much all other airlines do). Kayak doesn't sell you anything - you just click through to the provider.

Some day, I will return to WDW! But in the meantime, I get emails from Booking Buddy which pulls up multiple sites. Orbitz has this awesome table where you can find flights up to 3 days before and 3 days after the dates you enter. So if your dates are flexible, you can play around with the dates on the table to find the cheapest flights.

Many airline websites allow you to do this as well.

I usually use kayak.com and bingtravel.com to check air fare, but then book through the airline itself. Bingtravel.com checks on different sites and then recommends whether you should buy or wait.

I use http://matrix.itasoftware.com it generally shows all airlines cept Southwest, Allegiant, and DirectAir. Often shows combinations you'd never find on the other sites too.

Unlike all the other sites, they neither sell tickets nor make a commission off the sites they send you to.
