Best way to add a night?

I currently am looking for a September stay and my room is available for all the nights I need except one. I currently have a split stay booked (3 nights at BRV, 3 nights at BLT) but I would like to switch to a whole week at BRV. Should I 1.) Book the 5 BRV nights and waitlist the other night, or 2.) book another room that’s available for the entire stay and waitlist the room I actually want for the entire stay? If I waitlist the one night, will they combine my two reservations?

Book the five and waitlist the one. Much higher chance you get that then all 6 nights because they won’t hold the current ones for your waitlist.

The drawback is that it never opens. If it does, yes, they will combine, assuming it’s all on the same membership.

I agree with @Sandisw and book the 5 nights at BRV and waitlist the 6th night.

I would also call MS and see if you can book that one night room for cash.

They give you an 8 day cancellation policy so assuming you’re doing the 31 day waitlist that should be plenty of time to cancel if the waitlist does come through.

You could also book at SSR, OKW or AKL at a cheaper price per night and then do a 7 day waitlist as BRV would require more points.

You don’t want to have one of the more expensive properties like PVB, RIV or VGF booked and then do the waitlist cancelled 7 days out option as if it the waitlist comes through 30 days or less out, those extra points would go into holding.
