First time pulling our camper down and I'm looking for the best way to get into fort wildrness. will be taking the turnpike from I-75. Trying to avoid I-4

Take the turnpike to exit Toll 429, Daniel Webster Western Beltway.

Take that to exit 8, Disney World/Hartzog Rd/Western Way. Follow signs to WDW/Western Way. Unless something has changed you can only go one way off that ramp. There is the big WELCOME sign as well. This will bring you onto Disney property along side Coronado Springs.

Western Way ends at Buena Vista Drive so make a left and follow signs to Ft Wilderness.

I think that exit off the Turnpike is exit 267A to get on Highway 429 (DWWB) South which is a toll road. If I'm wrong someone correct me.

This is the way we go. Follow the signs to MK, go through the parking booth for free (tell them you and your trailer are headed for the Fort), then take the first right to head down to the Fort entrance.

Travel safely!

We like to go into FW from the MK entrance and turn left into the Fort because if you have a larger rig, it is a very difficult turn taking a right. You can come from the other direction, think our GPS says to, but we don't listen:lmao:

Another option, if you don't want to take another toll road off the turnpike is to take exit 289 off the Florida Turnpike (US 27 south) and follow US 27 to US 192 and then travel east following the signs to WDW. The advantage of this route (for us) is that you will pass several grocery stores and a Walmart before you arrive at WDW and Ft. Wilderness.

Turn onto World Drive and then just follow the signs toward MK (some exits on WDW property to MK will be to the left, so be ready) and go through the MK toll booth. The turn to the Fort is almost immediately to the right, so use the far right guest lane in the toll booth...this will take you under the monorail track and the left turn into the Fort is about 3/4 mile ahead.

Hope this helps

PS, taking exit 289 also means you will only be on the Turnpike for 20 miles :-)
PPS, the exit off I-75 onto the Turnpike is a left
