We're thinking about trying one of the water parks next trip. DD's will be 5 & 2. Are they both kid friendly, or does one have a better kids area then the other? Anyone know how crowded it gets in late Sept? We were in WDW last month & it was super hot, but very empty so I am wondering if the same holds true for the water park.

We have 4 kids and have been to both water parks. They both have a nice area for young kids who are not strong swimmers with small slides, fountains, shallow pools, sand, ect. Both parks also have a nice lazy river that we always enjoy as a family. If they are brave enough, both parks have wave pools, but the waves can get pretty big so you will have to hold onto them. We were at BB in early October and I think we have decided it is our favorite. They have a good "tween" area. If your oldest is a good swimmer he/she may enjoy it. It is the "ski patrol training school" that you always see on the Disney DVDs and videos. It has medium sized slides, but when you land in the pool you DO have to swim to the side. My DD6 had no problem with anything in the area, and my DD11 and DS9 loved it too. DH and DD13 took off for the mega-slides. The water parks are moderately crowded anytime it is warm. It was mid 80's when we were there and crowds were manageable. Weekends in the summer are the worst as locals come too. HTH....Lacee

We were just there lat week My kids are DS4 and DD2. We did Blizzard Beach this year. (Did Typhoon Lagoon last year when they were 3 and 1) We loved them both! We did find BB to be more crowded b/c IMHO they have the better slides. I think TL has the better atmosphere though.

MY son LOVED the kiddie area at BB. There were so many different slides and things that were perfect for him to do. My only complaint is that you can loose sight of them easily here and it made me a little nervous. Some of the slides are up on a higher level. MY DH and I had to man the top and bottom (the "send off "and the "catch") BB was much busier than TL was last year.

TL seemed more laid back. They had a great kids area but it didn't have the craziness of BB. There were tons of kids running everywhere at BB. TL had slides but I think BB had more. TL is great for relaxing.

They are both wonderful for kids. If you are just doing one then decide if you would like to relax (choose TL) or do lots of slides (choose BB) Have a GREAT time!

We went in Aug this year with dd 8 & 9. They loved BB ski patrol area. We went on our last day. They loved the entire trip but this was their favorite. They are real water dogs. The wave pool was too strong for them and we ended up in the lazy river a few times but stayed in the patrol area all day. They loved it.

We did Typhoon Lagoon a couple weeks ago with the kids in our group (6, 5, 3, 3 & 10 months). This was definitely the best park for their ages. There were a couple really small slides/play areas that they got warmed up in, then we headed to the medium-sized slides, where even the 3 year olds could go on (on a tube) and they just stayed on the tube in the pool at the end of the slide & one of us pushed them over to the steps.

Blizzard Beach, IMO is much better once you can really enjoy the big slides.
