Hey DISERS.....
WHo can tell me what is the BEST walking shoe for walking around the parks.

I have mickey crocs and croc flip flops. Thinking I need something NEW.

What do you guys prefer? Those memory foam shoes sound interesting.

I am also wondering people's opinions about shoes.

Last trip I wore FitFlops. I really like them- super supportive- however the thong piece between my toes got annoying after .

I've seen a lot of positive chatter about Keens. I actually found a pair I liked (Whisper sandal) but at $90 I wanted to try them on first. Then I happened upon the youth version of the Whispers, and one color happened to be $27.. so let's hope they fit! What a steal if they do.

the most comfortable shoes i've EVER worn at WDW are my teva mush (the original, not the mush II) flip-flops. not a blister or hot spot anywhere, and, when i wear tennis shoes, i ALWAYS get blisters, sometimes, even if i slather my feet in bodyglide first!

On Amazon. The other youth ones were $45, but the one color was $27. Easy return policy too so if they don't fit, no harm!

I don't care for the memory foam shoes, but a lot f nurses swear by them. I have issues with plantar fasciitis so I need good arch support. I prefer new balance. I recently tried the teva mush, I had to order them online. They felt really comfy, but they ran too small. I'd need to Order up. Anyone else have that problem? I normally do a 7.5 and the 8 was too small. I fear a 9 will be too big. But they run small.

hmmm...sounds like you got the mush II. everyone who buys them says they're smaller and narrower than the original mush. i wear and 8 1/2, and my original mush flip-flops are true to size.

I bought some Skechers GO Walk shoes this time and I loved them. Mine looked different but this is part of the same line. I believe they have plaids and such too: http://www.amazon.com/Skechers-Womens-Go-Walk-Slip-On/dp/B005GI8UZ8/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
They are light like crocs, but look like a boat shoe. I wore them the whole time at the parks and loved them. I did feel like they wore out rather quickly, but for the vacation they were awesome. Great for planes too, easy slip on and off.

Last trip I wore Teva Mush, Orthaheel and Chaco flip flops. All were very comfortable and I had no issues. Recently I purchased Spenco Yumi flip flops and I love them. They have the orthotic arch support and a metatarsal support. I plan to take these on my trip this year.

I love crocs with my high arches and frequent foot problems!....but....I don't like the slippery soles in rain....and they are sort of dorky-cute..... I also love Teva Mush flip flops for long days....and birkenstock anything works for me, but those aren't generally waterproof..... So it's usually Teva mush for summer, and Keen sneaker, etc for winter.....I REALLY need replacement exercise sneakers, mine are 15 years old,and I can't find anything comfortable enough! I have an old pair of Nike air joggers, they are SO worn out, I wish I could find something for this purpose...

They will probably be fine. I have a pair of Keen Youth shoes, size six, which fit me fine and I usually wear a women's size 8 in Keens. The youth size was on sale, so was much cheaper.

I have Psoriatic Arthritis in my toes and I wore my Sanuk Yoga Mat Flip Flops for my last 2 week trip with no issues! I love my Yoga Mat shoes, unfortunately our new puppy does too...

Thanks ~ I ordered a size 5 in the ceramic color.

The best walking shoes for WDW are shoes that have been worn (broken in) but not too old and that have good support for the arches of your feet. Everyone has different comfort levels and what might be great for me, might not be great for you.

Some people insist on wearing a full shoe (typically athletic), other prefer a sandal, flip flop, or slide. Try all sorts of shoes, if you are buying new, before making a decision.

I hope you find something perfect for you.

I second the suggestion of New Balance for Tennis Shoes.

I have Plantar issues, and since finding the New Balance models that provide motion control, I haven't had a single issue!

I have had 6-8 flare ups over the last 4-5 years, and all were the result of bad footwear choices.

Once I wore my croc boat shoes to a local amusement park and that was the worst flare up I have ever had - it took weeks to get back to normal.

I also have the New Balance motion control insoles - they are fantastic.

I did the footprint analysis in the gym on our last Disney Cruise - their goal is to sell you the high end rigid arch insoles they have to offer... but after checking out what I already have, the guy doing the evaluation said that what I have from New Balance is better than what they offer.

New Balance usually has a few different models of motion control athletic shoes - I highly suggest going to a New Balance outlet store and inquiring as to what models they have in the store.

I have a very wide, very flat foot - so it is tough for me to find athletic shoes that not only fit well, but also provide the hours of support needed when touring WDW.

If you have arch/plantar issues - check out New Balance! :thumbsup2

I'm another one who loves Sanuk yoga mat flip flops. So comfortable. I also like their shoes, but they have no arch support, so keep that in mind. As far as tennis shoes go, I picked up a pair of asics with gel in them and they are really comfortable. I like them better than any other sneakers I've had in the past. And I also like crocs. They may be dorky looking, but they don't hurt my feet, so that's all that matters. I have found that switching my shoes up really helps me. My feet blister and get really sore if I wear the same shoes everyday for a long trip, regardless of how comfy they are, so I try not to wear the same pair of shoes two days in a row if I'm doing a lot of walking.

Yours must be older! I ordered a pair of" the original mush" and also a pair of the mush II. They both ran very small. The original mush ones have been brought back by popular demand according to their website and they run Small now. I wonder if the new original mush are as good as the original original mush lol.
