Hi. We have a group of six, (four women, two men) who are looking for a place in March. Not sure of the dates, but probably mid-week, for about 5 nights. We will have a car, but would prefer to walk. What would you recommend?

You would probably need to be more specific about your requirements. If you are looking for more homelike setting, and more bedrooms, then Windsor Hills or other rental homes are your best bet. If you can get by with 2-3 bedrooms and want onsite amenities (restaurants, shuttles, big pools), then look to any of the good resorts in the area - lots of threads here about those.

If you are going down to "party" you may be better off in a private home. The timeshare villa resorts are generally a little more densely packed with lots of families who won't tolerate late night noise.

Thanks! We're not looking to make a lot of noise or party hard, just want a clean, comfortable place to hang out, nice pool, restaurants nearby. We'd prefer a resort/timeshare/villa with some amenities (maybe tennis or minigolf type things) to a private house.
Bonnet Creek seems to be a favorite here. It looks like some of the towers are pretty far from the amenities. Is it a long walk to the pool, etc.?

Bonnet Creek is a very compact resort with pools just a short walk (or no walk) away depending on what tower you are staying in. They also have a pool bar, which is where I would be hanging out if I was 25.

Royal Duke, why do you think a chain hotel would be better for "my type?"
With six adults, we really wanted something more than a hotel room, something with a living room/common area, and maybe some nice amenities on the property.

"Please behave?" Apparently, Duke has the wrong impression of our group. These are responsible, professional men and women looking to reunite with college friends for a few days, not the misbehaving, out-of-control partiers he condescends to rebuke. Obviously, I am offended by his remarks, but I'd like to thank the other members who offered helpful suggestions.

You have done a good job of standing up for yourself in this situation and I admire that. I think your crew would do just fine at Wyndham Bonnet Creek or Marriott Harbor Lakes.

Please understand that many families have had vacations made less magical by groups of people your age that are sweet by day but less than adorable at about 1 am ET.

As a gesture of apology for stereotyping you, please accept this tip: Head down through Windemere to Yellow Dog Eats (check out the reviews on TripAdvisor #2 in all of orlando)...its a hip edgy place with great sadnwiches, perfect for youngsters.
:cool1:

Thank you, Duke. When I was younger, my parents rented a beach house for a family vacation, unfortunately we were surrounded by college kids on spring break, so I understand your concern. I just wanted to assure all that that's not the type of vacation we're looking for!
I'm off to check out Marriott Harbor Lakes and Yellow Dog Eats!

I think renting at one of Marriott's and Sheraton's resorts such as Grande Vista, Sheraton's Vistana Villages, Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa(closest to Disney).....,
