Following on from Lesley's post about villas, pls could you recommend some villa locations?

We want to stay somewhere fairly close to Disney and with a private pool but that's as far as it's got with the planning!

Just got back 10 days ago from POR and AKL and gone straight into full planning mode for next year;)

Cheers
Naomi

Hi Naomi

We stayed in a villa for the first time at Christmas which was located at the Windsor Palms development. It was beautiful and the house was fantastic. We have just booked the same house again for this Christmas. Really easy to get to all the parks. Own heated pool as well as the use of the club house which included gym, mini cinema, large pool, kids pool, tennis courts etc.

We loved it and can't wait to go back!

We stay on Indian Ridge, which is just off the 192 anf about 5 mins drive from Disney. Again private Pool all mod cons etc. shops close by.

I thought the best area to stay for convenience to WDW and for choices of restaurants on the 192 the best area is either side of the 192 West of where the 192 joins I4 . The developments in this area include Indian Ridge, Indian Ridge Oaks, Formosa Gardens , Lindfields and a few others I can't remember. Really anything in the area of Splendid China.

Agree with Vernon, anything around the Splendid China area.
Windsor Palms and Indian Creek both in this area are recommended.

Near to Supermarkets, Restaurants and good access to Disney World and the I4.
We usually stay a few miles up the road , Indian Point/Chatham Park area but have changed for next year.

I would also recommend the Splendid China (now closed) area, we stayed at Windsor Palms earlier this year and found both the development and location excellent.
If you do stay there make sure you find out the 'short cut' to Disney, it saves alot of waiting in traffic and it's much quicker (especially to AK).

Many thanks for your suggestions. At least I know where to concentrate the search!

Anyone stayed in Strafford Park area? It is East of Kissimmee and South of MCO? Any comments on this area?

Can somebody tell me where the "Short Cut to Disney is", mentioned earlier in this thread?

'SHORT CUT TO DISNEY'

Traveling on the 192 from the Splendid China area take a left into SHERBETH ROAD, follow this road to the cross roads with traffic lights and turn right. You are now on Disney property and just follow the signs to your park (for AK you do a U-turn after about 200yds at the turning point and AK is straight in front of you -the turn is signposted-).

To cut out the 192 completely from the Windsor Palms area take a right into FUNIE STEED ROAD at the cross-roads before Splendid China, follow this Road to ENTRY POINT BOULEVARD and take a left, then cross the 192 into SHERBETH ROAD.

Try doing a search for MAPQUEST and on their web site enter:

Address : Entry Point Boulevard
City : Kissimmee
State: FL

You will get a map of the area, the scale of which you vary.

I hope this makes sense and is of help, it really is worth getting to know this route -TRUST ME-

N.b. when returning to your villa follow the Disney signs to AKL untill you get to Sherbeth Road (just after entrance to AK).

RE: CORRECTION TO DIRECTIONS!!

Please note that when I originally posted these directions I made a typing error and should have posted that you take a left into Entry Point Boulevard. I have edited the post to make the correction but would like to appologize to anyone who had already read these directions.

I would hate to have sent anyone the wrong way:eek: !!
