Best vegi restaurant

Meals that stand-out to me as being really good: The vegetable sandwich at Tusker House in AK

I liked this the Tusker House vegetable sandwich very much, but it's no longer offered. They now have a veggie wrap, which is cold and not NEARLY as tasty as the veggie sandwich.

Cheers!

Another fan of the lighthouse sandwich. :thumbsup2 I make it at home now a lot.

I had a decent meal at the Rose and Crown. It was vegetables in phyllo dough with a curry sauce. It was pretty good!

Hi,
I had a really good veggie sandwich at Backlot express in MGM. :goodvibes

DH enjoyed this Sandwich too - is this it? DH said it taste like a great pizza between a bun!

I had this too and it was one of the best things I had all week! I am not a vegetarian so I did not ask if it was purely animal free, but someone here may know. The phylo was hot and crispy, the veggies had a fresh flavor, the curry was sweet and spicy and the bit of mustard was a nice tang.

I'll try to post a photo, but it's my first time, so it may not work :hippie:

The Vegetable sandwich at the Plaza is REALLY good!!

No, this doesn't look like it. It also came with a black bean salad that was really good. I forget what was in it, but at the time, said that I would get it again.

Our Vegetarian/Vegan friends love Boma! We have 2 Vegan friends, 1 Vegetarian friend and 2 Pesci (eat seafood) Vegetarian friends and it is their favorite. The last time we went with our Vegan friends (about 2 weeks ago) one of the chefs at Boma brought out Vegan soup, a Vegan meal and a Vegan dessert for them in addition to the buffet! We all had a blast.

Plaza uses china plates - those are paper. And that table is walnut colored wood. That looks a lot like a sandwich at Pinocchio's Village Haus.

We are all vegetarians = no meat. That is me + DH + DS(6).

We love The Brown Derby at MGM for its Thai Noodle Bowl. It has coconut encrusted tofu that is excellent.

We completely agree with a prior post about the veg dish at Whispering Canyon. It was very good. We ate there for the first time in 12/06 and will return in 06/07.

We also love California Grill. We have always found great food there and the view can't be beat. We eat here every trip.

Another TS we love is Chefs de France. We eat the veggie lasagna. YUM.

We also eat at Rose & Crown and Garden Grill. Garden Grill has a veggie selection, just ask.

We also agree about not going to Jiko. We ate there twice in a row. They had only one veg dish that was awful. The waiter said they could not/would not prepare anything else veg.

Also agree about Beaches n' Cream. We eat there often. They have a veg burger too.

We have noticed that veg options change frequently. What we ate and enjoyed may be gone on our next visit. For example, we used to like Yachtsman Steakhouse. Yeah, a steakhouse. But they changed the veg option.

So before we set our ADR's we check out the on-line menus to see what veg dish is offered.

This time we are going to try Flying Fish, Narcossees, and Wolfgang Puck. They each had some very interesting veg dishes on their menus.

I disagree with the posters who dislike Jiko. They have great salads, and a great platter of breads and dips (Taste of Africa). The veggie dish is assorted grains with seared tofu on top and is, in my opinion, delicious. Just goes to show that we have different tastes. Just don't rule it out if the food sounds good to you.

I LOVE Boma...there is so much food there that I can eat that I wind up stuffed! I also like Artist's Point (WL)...their potato and chive potstickers were good and the Berry Cobbler is awesome; I had a great vegetarian dish at Le Cellier, Prime Time Cafe was very accomodating, as is Brown Derby...etc.

For counter service at MK I recommend Columbia Harbor House (lighthouse sandwich, veggie chili), Pecos Bills' (Kit Carson salad without chicken), Cosmic Ray's (veggie burger & topping bar), & El Pirata Y El Perico when open (Taco Salad with beans and rice, no meat). At Epcot, I like La Cantina de San Angel (vegetarian wet burrito), Tangerine Cafe (tabouleh wrap, vegetarian platter), Seasons in the Land (veggie sushi, vegetarian sandwich). MGM's Backlot Express has a good vegetarian sandwich, and the ABC Comissary has some good vegetarian options too. When at AK, I go to Pizzafari (pizza, obviously) and Tusker House (veggie pita sandwich, although I wasn't impressed the last time I had it.

I live in Orlando so I often visit the parks, and I know I've just scratched the surface in my review. I have been to most all of the restaurants on Disney property, so if you have any questions I would be happy to answer them for you!!
