Best vegetarian food around/in the park?

Just seeing if anyone has any stand-out ideas? Last year, we liked Rancho del Zocalo best and also the Earl of Sandwich place next to DLH, but it was a short trip and, even thought it wasn't difficult to find vegetarian stuff per se, I felt it was hit-or-miss.

Any great places we should be sure to hit this time?

From a recent post and some new updates to allears.net menus, honestly, I'm not sure anymore!

At the two corn dog stands, the red wagon at DL and the Castle in DCA, they also have a cheese corndog. Not a hot dog, but fried cheese. Hope that makes sense ;)

My favorite is in DCA- it's on my list every trip- is paradise garden grill. I get the grilled veggie & tofu skewer (veggies usually squashes and eggplant) and you get a choice of sauce (I like tzatziki but it's not vegan). You also get a tomato cucumber salad, rice pilaf and pita as a side.

It's my favorite!!

Fried Green Tomato Sandwich at Hungry Bear? I'm not a vegetarian, but I loved it. We had gone for lunch on a Sunday that the parks were crowded and there was still lots of room in the seating area. Got to see the Mark Twain and Columbia go by.

Some of my favorites are:

At DL:
The Three-Cheese Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans. It's a bit heavy, but I usually share it with DF.

The Fried Green Tomato Sandwich at Hungry Bear.

At DCA:
Carthay Circle often doesn't have much on the menu for vegetarians, but they will make you something special if you ask. Every time I have, it's been the best thing I ate that day.

Wine Country Trattoria offers a few different vegetarian pasta dishes, and I've never had a bad one.

The vegetarian shepard's pie at Flo's is pretty good, but the portion is small, and some people think it's too bland. I like it.

Outside the parks:

Uva Bar's menu changes frequently, but they always have some good vegetarian options. Get the dip trio, if they have it. SO GOOD.

The Crispy Tofu Salad at Tangaroa Terrace. (At DLH)

Steakhouse 55 (DHL) has the best breakfast, IMO, and aside from a few already veg options, they will also modify their other offerings. They have one of the best eggs benedict I've ever had.

EDIT: I forgot to mention - beware the desserts. Almost anything with a mousse or frosting has gelatin in it, including the yummy cupcakes.

Just about every place has a veggie option.

We love UVA wine bar (my wife is a vegetarian) and eat here every visit.

If you want to drive/cab it, Thuyen Ven is about two long blocks away. Vietnamese food. The entire menu is vegetarian. Even the fish, pork, chicken, beef dishes. Usually our stop for dinner before getting on the road home.

I wish I didn't know this. Now I may have to try it.

Ooh, YUM.

Seconding the issue with gelatin!

Next time I go to a Disney park I'm going to complain about it, too. They do it to make it pretty, keep it stable. But how quickly do they sell those cupcakes? They sell them FAST. It's not like cupcakes, etc, are going to sit in the case for hours upon hours. It's ridiculous.

And in retrospect I'm upset with the Chef I talked to a couple years back who I thought was clear on telling me their philosophy where they didn't put meat in things that didn't actually need meat. Like they use vegetable oil not lard, they don't use weird stocks without it being obvious, etc. I randomly found out about the gelatin while looking for corn syrup ingredients in the honey cupcakes at Hungry Bear. (funnily enough, apart from the gelatin, those would actually be vegan from what my skimming of the ingredients showed me, because it's not actual honey, LOL) It only got worse from there. :(

I love Big Thunder Ranch BBQ. The veggie option is a skewer with mushrooms, bell peppers, squash, potato, onion, and tofu with their BBQ sauce. I love it. :) and of course, the sides.
It used to take a long time to get the veggie option out, but now it is fast.

We also like to get breakfast burritos at Tomorrowland terrace with no chorizo. It takes a few extra mins, but it's tasty and very filling.

This! But definitely split it, because it's HUGE! You can ask them to do a "kitchen split" if you want, and then each person will get the sides that come with the sandwich.

Only the Corn Dog Castle has the cheese - on - a - stick.

Only Corn Dogs at the Little Red Wagon.
