my daughter and husband are going in June and dont want to spend more than $200 a night

We stayed at Desert Inn the last two times we went to DL. It's really close and the rooms are clean, just right across the street, it works well for us. They have an indoor pool we've never used, but we just like to go to the parks. The breakfast was just a grab and go in November, which had a pastry, fruit, granola bar and water or juice. When they have the regular breakfast it was cereal, fruit, muffins. juice and coffee I think. Basic, but enough to get you started for the day.

Desert Inn will probably be your best bet within really close walking distance. I do have BW Park Place booked for Oct @ $179, but I booked 10 months in advance to get that rate.

Desert Inn! Such a short walk! It's nothing fancy but when we stayed it was very clean and reasonably priced.

Candy Cane Inn has been under a long renovation but they expect to be open by June. It's a little further walk than Desert Inn or Best Western Park Place Inn, but it's not bad. They also have a shuttle as an alternative to walking.

I agree about Candy Cane Inn. Most rooms are under $200. We stayed in the premium room, which was $219 (bigger room and they deliver breakfast to your room in the morning.) It's not a bad walk but we appreciated the shuttle and used it most days. The grounds are really pretty, and the whole hotel is being renovated so I bet it will be even nicer when they reopen in mid May. You could book it now if you're interested.

Depending the time of year there are many hotels under $200. The Embassy Suites Anaheim South is under $200 a night for much of June. Many of the major hotel properties look to be in the 175 range (before taxes.)

I guess this is news to me because I always travel there during school breaks.

I don't really consider that walking distance but the ART bus stop is very convenient for it.
I often stay at the Four Points which is relatively close and typically runs about 150 before taxes but you need platinum status or above for free breakfast and the freeway noise can be bothersome to some people.

Your correct it might be a bit far for a walk. But all major brands have hotels within walking distance (say the Hilton and Marriott near the convention center) that are often under $200 and within walk distance.

We reserved the Del Sol in June for $165 a night for four nights. We had to go back later and get an additional two nights, and they were more by then, a bit over 200, but it all depends on when you reserve them.

There are hotels in Anaheim under $200 a night!? Lol
Last fall I booked rooms at Desert Inn for $109 as well as $149.

I also somehow managed $139 (June, so close enough to reopening that it's not really an accurate reflection) and $159 (also fall 2021) rates for Park Vue, which is definitely rarer. Usually anything in the high side neighborhood of $200 is considered good for them. ($229-$249 pretty typical before tax.)

These were all Friday or Saturday night stays with 2 queen beds. So not impossible to find sub-200, but certainly does depend on timing and luck.

I've been happy with Homewood Suites 'Convention Center' (Anaheim, not Garden Grove location) and the newer Hampton Inn Anaheim, located on each side of the Toy Story parking lot. They both include breakfast and nice room setups. Homewood has more kitchen features in room and Hampton is basic but clean/new rooms.

It really depends of time of year of course, but keep an eye on Hilton.com for both of their locations as they're part of Hilton brand.

Yeah, even the Hilton Garden Inn lowered rates to $199 for next week! I'm considering switching because I booked the Westin at $300 a night (because at the time, there wasn't much of a price difference). But the Westin looks soooo nice!!! And the reviews for the HGI are not that great... 😬

Yeah, can't really compare those two properties. Westin is literally brand new and more in line with Disney's Grand Californian hotel (and across street from DCA) I think Westin might even clean your room. ;) Disney cut a lot of housekeeping and other basic services.
