Best U.S cities for affordable vacations.

but I love reading about everyone's different vacations! :goodvibes

It makes me want to go plan to visit all of the cities/states mentioned! Thank you all for sharing and I will surely keep these places in mind as my kids grow older and we look to different states to vacation in! :)

Woo Hoo. There is so much to do in here relatively cheap. You can walk most places from downtown, or you can stay in the burbs and drive in. Parking at venues is pretty reasonable. And there are 3 museums at White River (NCAA, Indiana State and Eitjeljorg)

I'm surprised St Louis isn't on the list. The hotels are cheapish if you don't stay by the Arch, the zoo is free, Grant's Farm is free and there are many many other things to do. One of our favorite budget trips!

I agree with St. Louis it is a wonderful family visit they may have the best zoo around and their sports and parks are all close by!!!!:yay:

I love reading this thread. There are so many great places to visit in America! We are currently living in China but will return to the U.S. in June. My husband and I have lived several places overseas, but we are ready to see some of our own country for a while. We are moving to Florida:cool1: which is great in and of itself, but we do hope to see lots more of the U.S. I did live about 3 hours from Savannah, and it is a truly great vacation place!
