I will be celebrating my 40th birthday at Disney in September. Party of 4 adults and 2 kids (age 8 and 4). Need suggestions for my birthday meal.

I'm celebrating my 40th with the mad hatter at 1900 Park Faire for breakfast. It's alot of fun to celebrate a birthday there. I did it 2 years ago and had a blast.

I had a lot of fun for my 32nd at Chef Mickey's. Booked again this year!

Yachtsman's Steakhouse is a lovely place to have a celebration dinner, and the children won't feel too constricted. It's a nice place, and no characters (other than the incredible servers :teeth: ) but children are welcomed.

The food and service are very good, far better than at other so called signature restaurants. (Whatever you do avoid California Grill)!

If you like character meals, then of course there are a number of those. ::yes::

Jiko is another nice place, and has a nice atmosphere.

 I LOVED Cali Grill! Our server was amazing, we had a stunning view, the food was gorgeous and they gave me a mouthwatering piece of birthday cake.

OMG. Well, consider yourself very lucky. Our food (for my wife's birthday) was inedible. Truly, not just hyperbole. The service was terrible with a server who knew little to nothing about what she was doing, nor the restaurant itself.

It was so noisy, we couldn't carry on a decent conversation. Not that we care what people wear at all, but it's supposed to be a "signature" restaurant so the hairy armpits of tank top wearing big bellied men were a bit of an unexpected sight. :upsidedow:rotfl:

Needless to say, it was NOT the celebratory dinner we were expecting and we'll not be back.

Awww, I'm sorry you had a bad experience most people seem to love it there :sad2:

I went for my 30th to WDW and celebrated at many places! I think that CRT was really special! They decorated the table with Cinderella's carriage confetti, I got a signed card from the princesses & a cupcake! Chef Mickey's was great about birthdays as was Akershus. We did a lot of character meals for the kids!

If it were me I would go back to Citricos!

My 2nd choice would be California Grill.

I haven't been, but am anxious to try Jiko.

I think any signature would be a good choice.

I am sorry, but I can't help with a birthday recommendation, maybe Jiko. CRT sounds fun!

I just wanted to say I'm celebrating my 40th at WDW in Sept too :bday: and am trying to decide what to do myself.

I hope you have a wonderful trip :goodvibes

Happy Early Birthday!:wizard:
I am celebrating my 41st in two days (SQUEE!) with a character breakfast in the MK at the LTT, lunch at CRT (after DD5 gets Snow White'd at the BBB :cutie:) and then dinner at Narcoossee's followed by Wishes from their deck. :cloud9: I'll let you know how it goes! :goodvibes

We're always celebrating my dad's birthday when we're down there and here are the places we've eaten

-California Grill (view was amazing, but the food wasn forgettable)
-Portobello (Great, but I don't know if it's a great place for a birthday unless you've been there before and it's already a favorite)
-Shula's (great, don't know if it's the best with young kids, but if you love steak this is where I would go)
-Yachtsman (a step down from Shula's but the food is still good)
-Ohana's (great view and the food is great, if your looking for a casual meal this is where I would go)
