Grace Bay Beach on the island of Providenciales in Turks & Caicos.

We've been all over the Caribbean and this is hands down the most beautiful water and sand we've seen anywhere.

OMG!!!! That is what I have heard over and over and over. I can't wait to be able to go there!!!

I enjoyed a vacation on St. John a few years ago. I think that the name of my favorite beachs were Oppenheimer and Maho.

Most St. John beaches are on National Park land. This is good for care and maintenance. The down side is that there are no hotels on the nicest beaches and you need to drive to them. The parking lots and picnic groves made them feel a little less 'tropical' to me. JMHO

Actually, I think having a hotel on every square foot of shoreline makes it feel less tropical. When we were in St. John, we really enjoyed driving around the island in a jeep and exploring all of the beaches. I can't remember the name of the beach, but we were going there in search of the sea turtles. We parked the jeep and walked through tall grass for a little while to find one of the most breathtaking beaches we had ever seen - and not another soul in sight! :thumbsup2

At first we thought it was pretty romantic to be there all alone, after all it was our honeymoon. But when we started getting into the water to snorkle, we encountered a huge, ferocious, bloody-jawed shark. O.k. it was a tiny shark, but a shark nonetheless. We decided that where there are little sharks, there are big ones, and there wasn't enough bait on that beach for our liking.

Kenny Chesney has a house on St. John. And I think a couple of his videos are shot there.

When we went to St. John we stayed at Gallows Point, right in Cruz Bay. It is a condo-type place that had a bedroom, bathroom with garden shower, a living room and a kitchen. The place had a restaurant, but no room service or anything. They provided housekeeping service. The resort has a pool, patio area, and a rocky beach for snorkeling right on the water. Sunsets were amazing, and we rocked a lot of time away in the hammocks near the water.

Good luck.

I should never have opened this thread. I have beach envy.

Thank you for all the great information on beaches. Some of the places you guys mentioned we have been looking at. It makes me want to go NOW, since it is a whopping 12 degrees outside at my house in NH

Trunk Bay in St. John's is probably the best, Magen's Bay is nice but its not as nice as Trunk IMO. Also, there is an island off of Puerto Rico, Palomino Island and its AMAZING!!! Even nicer than Trunk if you ask me.

We are going to Bermuda in two months, I will report what I think of that island after I return.

There were some beautiful beaches in the British Virgin Islands when we sailed with my aunt and uncle who have a 41' yacht there (i am sooo jealous!) The baths was really beautiful, there was also an area called Horseshoe beach or Horseshoe Bay that was absolutely breathtaking.

Yes, there is an island (Palomino Island) off of Puerto Rico - but the island is owned by the El Conquistador Resort. The resort itself sits atop (and in the side of) a cliff and is accessible via an incline. The incline will take you down to the resort marina, where shuttles take you back and forth to the island. We stayed there about 4 years ago and our day on the island was one of our favorites. :thumbsup2

Bellows Air Force Station, Oahu, Hawaii-unforunately its not open to the public except on weekends. Any place on St Lucia. Lunquillo Beach, Puerto Rico-all are awesome

Magan's Bay is lovely but there is no resort there and it can get crowded. Also St. Johns is truly lovely as well. I got the feeling from the OP that they were looking for a place to stay for a bit. OP are you looking for a resort or a series of nice beaches to visit?

Any beach on Maui does it for me. :sunny:
