Best Transportation?

My family and I are planning our first trip to Disneyland the end of July/beginning of August. We are planning on doing 4 days at Disneyland/CA Adventure and seeing a baseball game at Dodgers Stadium. If I am able to add a day I may see about a whale watching tour. Anyway, we are DW vets and normally drive from Virginia to Florida, having our car available if necessary. For Disneyland we will be flying into LAX and staying offsite, possibly at Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort-Convention Center. What do you think is the best way to get to/from the airport and to the Dodgers game? I was thinking of renting a car...about $300 for the week but am not sure I want to pay for parking at the hotel and/or having my husband drive through LA. He can drive through Washington DC traffic but it sounds like LA traffic is worse. I have never used Uber. I have seen info on the Disneyland Express Airport bus but then I'm not sure what to do about the baseball game. How is the ART? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Read up on Uber...easy peasey car on demand and perfect for what you need to do and you don't have to worry about parking...anywhere. Also the cheapest way to get around efficiently. They are all over LA and Anaheim area.

I used to never give Uber a second thought....till I rode with a friend on a ride once and saw how the app worked...then realized it is the greatest thing ever to happen to transportation!

ART is good for the immediate area near Disneyland.

As for getting to the Dodgers Game, I would opt for Public Transit, take the OCTA Route 543/43 bus on Harbor and take it north to the Fullerton Train Station, take AMTRAK or Metrolink to Uion Station in Downtown LA. There are special express buses that run from the station to Dodgers Stadium (including special bus lanes to avoid stadium traffic) and then after the game, reverse it.

Metrolink would be a bit cheaper, but it depends on the day of the week and the starting time of the game, since it is a Commuter train. AMTRAK offers full service 7 days a week including late night trains.

The LA Metro Route 460 bus is a great option to visit nearby Buena Park.
