Best transport option to Universal from airport

What are the transportation options from MCO to hotels at Universal? I'm hoping to reduce families need for rental car by a few days. We're coming down to Orlando and staying at Royal Pacific for 4 nights then going to Disney for 9 days. I plan on getting a car for the Disney stay so we can visit Kennedy and plus I prefer to use a car while at Disney.

Anyway - doeas anyone an opinion on getting from MCO to Universal and then getting around without a car?

We're traveling from MCO to Universal late May and I'm thinking of using a town car service. There are four of us and I want the grocery stop for some items. It's a little more money, but we won't have any other stops and will be able to get to RPR quickly.
