We're twentysomethings (no children) on our second trip to the World as a couple. We saved very big on our package, and are interested in doing a few tours.
My dh and I (twenty-somethings as well) went on the Keys to the Kingdom Tour and the Hidden Treasures of the World Showcase Tour. We though KTTK was fantastic and I'll be doing it again on an all-girls trip this June. It's limited to guests 16 and over (sometimes nice to not have kiddos in the group) and was very informative. It really made me appreciate all the effort that went into planning MK. My husband, we'd never been to WDW before that trip, now walks around spouting all sorts of useless bits of trivia. Gotta love him. We liked Hidden Treasures of the World Showcase too, but after KTTK it didn't seem as great. You get a good deal of info, but more about the countries and less about Disney planning. And besides, it costs the same as KTTK but doesn't include lunch or a souveneir pin. So, basically, I'd suggest both tours, but would also suggest that you do HT before KTTK.
My favorites are Backstage Magic (the grand prize of tours) and Keys to the Kingdom. But I'll tell you the favorite of DISers who've taken it is the Segway tour. I've gotta try that someday! If you love Epcot, Undiscovered Future World is fascinating. For train nuts, The Magic of our Steam Trains is great. Those are my suggestions, what do you guys think?
Me and my mom went on the backstage magic tour.. It was awsome, though it is seven hours. It really told you alot about what goes behind the magic and all. We got to see the anamatronics(spelling?) of different shows. We also got to see where they stroe all of the christmas stuff for america. that was my favorite park. Oh ya if any one is going to order flowers from disney ask for the hidden mickeys in the flowers. I would like to tell ya more but i don't want to spoil it.
I love the tour, it may sound long but it was alot of fun. I recommend this to anyone( well 16 and over that is).
I'll be at WDW in 9 days and have three tours booked--KTTK at MK, Backstage Safari at AK, and the Around the World on a Segway at Epcot. I didn't book it, but would love to do the 'In Depth Dolphin' tour someday.
From what I've read the KTTK, Segway, and Dolphins in Depth tours seem to be the most popular with Dis readers. With the Backstage safari tour you get to pet a white rhino and with the Dolphin tour you get your picture taken in the water with a dolphin. They say the Segway is just alot of fun. The other tours are just very informative, so I guess it depends on what you want and what you're interested in.
By the way if you have AAA or an AP you get discounts on the tours.
2 weeks ago, I did the Hidden Treasures of World Showcase tour. I loved it! Epcot is my favorite park and just love WS! It was very informative & entertaining. Plan on taking it again in Nov when I bring my best friend.
