Best tips for a newbie?

Hi everyone!

I am new to the DisBoards and to VMK. I'm ReadingBelle on both. I really appreciate all the great code and game guide info you guys have put together. I was wondering, though, do you have any great tips for a complete newbie? I just successfully signed on yesterday. I'd been trying for months, but my dial-up can't handle it. We should be switching to hi-speed any day now and the I'll be at it full force. Now I can sneak in everyone once and a while at work.

You guys have been at it for months -- what's one thing you wish you had known early on?

I wish I had known about Firefox earlier! I kept wondering how everyone could be Nedding with a mule and have their main character on at the same time. It took about two weeks before I could read all the threads and figure out what everyone was talking about. All that lost time with Ned!
