Best tip to save you the most money, do not plan , and just do not go!
go anywhere else, and after all is said and done, you had just as much fun,
at a lot cheaper price , and you don’t feel cheated , and Wouldn’t that be nice.

I've been doing European vacations, except during covid, and they are 5-star and less expensive than Disney vacations. We have fun learning about the history of where we are and have never regretted selecting that over WDW.

While we are DVC & AP, a few years ago, we did the "Roller Coaster" Tour. We bought the platinum pass for Cedar Fair parks (we normally buy the gold pass at our local park). We also bought the platinum food plan to work at all parks.

For the four of us, i think it cost $1,600 for those passes. Again, point to remember, we would normally spend $800 for the Gold Park and food passes. We did not do WDW APs that year, so that savings basically covered the extra costs.

My kids still talk about that trip. We basically planned out two days in each of Kings Island, Cedar Point, Michigan's Adventure and Canada's Wonderland. We visited family in NY for a few days before hitting King's Dominion on the way back home.

So, two weeks, a variety of amusement parks and water parks my kids had never been to. Went to another country! Saw the 150th Canada Day Celebrations, Niagara Falls. It was a great trip, and much less than Disney.

Yeah I feel the same . exploring many other options at this point...All much cheaper. and I know my kids will still have fun. Its lost so much magic for me and the money grab is getting too much. I can afford it but dont want to spend my money like that anymore.

This is like preaching abstinence to horny teenagers. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. :)

Or you could still go but cut the number of days way back. We did that on recent trip. Spent less. More money will be put towards other travel this year. I feel less like a lemming.

With wacko crazy man Putin, I would not be going to Europe any time soon. I would imagine Canada and South America are fairly safe, Africa and parts of Asia as well.

I wouldn't go to Ukraine or Eastern Europe at the moment, but the rest is as safe as always. There is about 1.200 mile between me and the danger zone.

I generally agree, but what if the idiot shoots down an airliner? All European airports would close and you would be stuck over there. I was stuck in VA during 911 for about a week.
