I am going to be at the parks from Jan 31 - Feb 6th. It is looking like rain from the Tues to the Sat!! I am going with 2 other adults and 2 children (2, 4). I have rented a stroller and a rain cover, thank goodness! Any good tips for the adults?

Bring extra socks to the park. Have an extra pair of sneakers as well. Switch the shoes daily. If the rain is really hard, roll up your pant legs. Bring a towel to wipe down wet seats, etc.

Other wise have fun. :thumbsup2

You can guy high quality ponchos at every gift shop in the parks and in your resort. I would buy them on Disney property due to their amazing quality.... we love them. :goodvibes Bring extra socks with you when you to the parks to prevent sore feet. I wouldn't bring extra shoes... Florida is known for quick showers that last for only a few minutes... Bring plastic bags to put your Camera, Cell Phone, and other electronic equipment in from getting wet.

Best of luck to you on your trip! :goodvibes:cool1::thumbsup2:dance3::cheer2::grouphug:

to the advice above, sometimes a little rain can be your friend. We had a little more than normal rain in our past rip in June. Besides the temperature drop, that won't help you but did us, the parks cleared out substantially on the nights where there was a little above average rain. MK was almost walk on one night and the rain had mostly stopped after 6:30. It had been packed just a couple of hours before.

You may want to go with three pairs of shoes if possible. If you are wearing leather it may take time to dry. Crocs or such will be be pretty much fine the next day.

We had rain every afternoon of our honeymoon in 2002. We had park hoppers to we hopped over to Epcot every afternoon during the rain because there are lots of indoor options there. Then after the rain we'd hop back to where we were and the park was nearly empty!

Thanks so much for the replies! I got creative today... It was my DD 4th Birthday, so she got an awsome princess rain coat and splash pants! My DS already has a set but she didn't. She will need then for this spring and fall anyways...... I will definatly bring along extra socks too.

We are in WDW from Feb. 3-13 and the weather is showing rain for the first few days. I am thinking that Epcot would be a good way to spend a rain day. The kids can get passport stamps and maybe do a Kim Possible mission or two. Watch some shows have some good few and try and throw some rides in in between the rain. Any other ideas.....and what to do on the next rain day???

We never let rain stop us at Disney!

However, we've had less than good luck with the Disney ponchos - several have ripped on us while we've been there. Not good. I would get some ponchos from home and bring them along.

Other than that, some plastic bags to keep valuables dry and you're good to go!

If you don't have a stroller cover and want a very cheap solution go to the Dollar Tree and pick up a plastic shower curtain. It was a life saver for us and super cheap! At the end of the week we tossed it and that was that. It saved DD and DS from setting in wet seats and covered the entire double stroller!

I just read on the All Ears Newsletter that the Poly offers Hula lessons in the lobby. I'm thinking of adding this to my "rainy day list. "

FRom my Newsletter, "Learn to hula dance at Disney's Polynesian Resort, where complimentary classes take place most days in the resort's lobby. Auntie Kaui, a hula dancer and instructor with 50 years experience, leads most of the classes offered Monday through Saturday at 3:45 p.m., and Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. until noon. Weekday classes are geared toward the younger set, with leis and grass skirts aplenty, while the Saturday morning lessons encourage guests of all ages to do the hula shake. And whether guests stay for five minutes or the full two-hour Saturday classes, they'll learn a variety of chants and dances from such tropical locales as Hawaii, Tahiti and more."

As a Floridian, I can tell you our forecast will always predict a little rain. Always. We'll be there the 2nd through 4th and all three days show 20% chance of rain. What that means is that somewhere near Disney, 20 percent of the people will experience rain.
I wouldn't really worry unless you see something like 70 to 80 percent (which I haven't seen unless I'm completely missing something) and high winds to go along with it.

This is not really our rainy season, so you might be lucky :)

Pack the right clothes for the weather and don't be afraid of the parks!! The weather scares so many people away from the parks but there is still so much you can do on a rainy day!! The MK has a lot of indoor attractions:thumbsup2

We did the DVC tour at SSR on a rainy day. It worked great. Our kids played in a playroom with CM's and DH and I did the tour. Then there is ice cream afterwards. When we went we also go 5 fast passes each good for any fast pass ride. It had stopped raining by the time we got out. The guides are not very pushy and did not expect a sale onsite (in fact we had pretty much decided to buy then and our guide said to wait and make the decision at home).

We did have to schedule the tour a head of time, but we knew that there was a high prob of rain that particular and that is why we chose it. They even picked us up at AK and took us back to our hotel.

Take some waterproof gloves for the person that is pushing the stroller. Daddy's hands were freezing. Wool socks will stay warm when wet. Also a raincoat or a rain suit would be better than poncho's our legs kept getting wet. The ponchos only lasted one day pack extra and carry them at all times. The Disney ones are no better than the nicer ones you can by at Academy. You never know when it will start raining. When you are cold and done be done. We trucked around in the cold rain for about 5 hrs at MK (our only day there) We were happy to do what we got to do and left it at that.

I know this sounds strange, but try to keep dry. If you can find a spot to take cover during the really strong downpours, it's worth the time. We have learned the hard way. If you wait a little bit, the really strong rain usually lets up and you can go on your way. Duck into a store, find a seat for an unplanned snack or drink, or just huddle under anything that gives you cover.

We have spent the day totally wet and cold (AC burrr) only because of a 10min hard rain that we insisted on braving. I always found in hindsight, that the weather usually passes quickly and we can enjoy the rest of the day relatively dry. When you get really soaked, you never dry either. I found that the humid air in Florida was so different than back home. We expected to dry out as the day went on, not so. Everything that got wet, stayed wet.

Ponchos (don't be vain), umbrellas, extra socks, quick dry shoes, big plastic bag to cover your backpack (I found a great one at a camping store, like a giant shower cap) and a ball cap to help with the hood on the poncho (keeps the rain off your face).

As was mentioned before, don't be afraid of the rain. We've had some of our best days and especially evenings in the rain. The crowd really thins and you can have the place practically to yourself. Just watch out for the monster puddles!

I read somewhere that if your WDW poncho rips, you can take it into any WDW store and they'll replace it for free. Is that true??
