We just returned from two glorious weeks at WDW (going through post-Disney depression right now!) - I found many tips and tidbits on the DIS before we left, and thought I'd 're-gift' the most helpful tip that totally impressed my DH.
When you enter Animal Kingdom and get through the bag inspection, go directly to your left into the Rainforest Cafe. Once inside , turn immediately to your right into the gift shop and walk all the way through back outside - there you will find a turnstile with no line  we bypassed the long July lines (and tour groups) and went right into AK and on with our day! - my DH was so impressed, he said he won't complain when I'm on the DIS every day of my life anymore!!:rotfl:

This is one of the best kept secrets at the AK!! :)

It is a good tip but it does not always work.

We tried this twice last year and it worked okay the first time but the second time the CM said she could not open the turnstiles because they "automatically" turn on at 9 a.m. Soooo...we ended up in back of about 500 people who entered through the regular entrance.

This one I am taking note of. Arrive slightly before 9 am. Left after baggage check, into rainforest cafe, all the way through the gift shop (wthout stopping to buy yet) and out the door to a turnstyle for easy entry. Yee-Haa. We are 3 1/2 weeks from our trip. I am adding this tip on my obsessive-compulsive touring plan. This tip is a winner!

I know of a tip to give: Go directly to Everest and get a fast pass before they are gone in the first hour. When we went 2 years ago, the passes were for 5pm and it was a little after 9am when we got them. Not even 30 mins later we overheard folks saying that the passes were all gone and the wait time is close to 120 mins. Don't know if it still gets like this since the ride isn't as "new" but I know it gets crowded fast.

My tip is a common one..do the safari first. The animals are a LOT more active in the morning then they are in the afternoon son. First time we did the safari, we barely saw any animals (no giraffes, no lions, no elephants, no rhinos) because they were all hiding. Let me tell you, that scripted conversation with Wilson doesn't make much sense when you dont' see the animals.

We found out too to surely use the EMH for the safaris. Even that one hour earlier made a difference in the animals you saw!

ride the safari two times in a row. On my way into the standby line for the safari I grab a fast pass so I can use it if the standby line gets to long on my next time thru. when I get off the ride I get right back in line. You would be amazed how much the animals move around and you might not see them on each of your trips. :thumbsup2

Do you know if a CM works at the turnstile? My DS is autistic and we always have a problem getting him to stand still so the machine can scan his fingerprint it often does'nt read it and the CM recognizes his disability and swipes it for us. Linda :)

First thing in the morning there is a CM working the turnstiles, we had to have them redo a ticket because it has become demagnitized (sp?) Anywho, they let us in and just made a new one for DD no problem and no wait.

Hit rides in the morning, shows in the afternoon! Or even better yet, there is a lot to see-this park can easily be made into a 2 day park!
