Our trip is in about 6 weeks - wondering if I should snap up a rental car now, or wait for a couple weeks?
Looking to rent a mini-van, if that makes a difference.

There's no charge to make or cancel a reservation. And best case scenario, if you book now and then find the price has dropped, call the company and ask them to honor the new price.

On the other hand if you wait too long you may end up with fewer options. I would book that minivan ASAP!

If you use a site like Autoslash, they'll track discounts and automatically re-book you as well.

I have never heard of autoslash. I gave it a quick look, seems like they are only quoting 2 companies. Have you seen budget, etc.. listed at times too? We are going over Thanksgiving. I know airfare is going to be more but I hadn't considered if car rental will be more. (I would like to have one but isn't neccessary by any means.)

I used http://www.carrentalsavers.com to book a car for our trip last month. I would definitely book whatever is cheapest right now and keep checking every few days to see if rates have gone down, as they can fluctuate quite a bit. Good luck!
