We are coming to Orlando in December and was wondering which Timeshare Resort would be the best choice for DH, myself and DD (age 7). This is DD first trip and DH and myself have not been since 10 years ago. We are using Timeshare Bonus Week and are first time users. I have checked out TUG, but thought I might find more about the particular resorts through DISer's. I am so glad I found this website - it is so helpful in planning our trip!

We would like a resort that is newer (or newly remodeled), activities for DD and ourselves, heated pool (since it will be December). We want nice!!

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hilton Grand Vacation CLub at SW or ID

Sheraton VIstana

as stated Fairfield's Bonnet Creek (although I am not sure about activities here for DD - this resort is not completed) - this is surrounded by WDW.

Cypress Pointe (again lack of activities for DD) - very close to WDW.

Embassy Vacation Resort at Grand Beach

but I really doubt these will come up on your list.

how about listing a couple that are on your list.

Here is what I have so far...

HGVC at Sea World
Orange Lake CC
Sheraton Vistana Resort
Sheraton Vistana Villages
Silver Lake
Cypress Harbour
Cypress Pointe Resort
Summer Bay
Oasis Lakes at the Fountains
Fairfield at Bonnet Creek
Worldmark Orlando
The Fountains

I forgot to add HGVC International Drive. Is there much difference between
that one and HGVC Seaworld?

the ID is newer and they are constructing it (I think).

It is across from a Publix and next door to Premium Outlet (big discount mall)

but SW is across the street from SW!!! :cool1: :bounce:

and next door to Discovery Cove. :goodvibes

Thank you! I really appreciate all the help! If anyone has more suggestions (in case we can not get into HGVC) please keep posting!

My Mother has II. Can you get Bonnett Creek with II? It looks so beautiful!
Tara :flower:

what ammentities are complete at bonnet creek? do they have transportation to the park?

no it is only RCI at present time.

they do have bus tranportation - but it is the typical offsite one - 3 times in the morning - 4 times in the evening (could be wrong) :goodvibes

You've got some pretty nice timeshares on that list!
There will be construction at several of them, but I don't think it would be of too much of a bother. These include HGVC Intl Dr, Fairfield Bonnet Creek, and Vistana Villages. HGVC and Bonnet Creek are very new, and VV is only a few years old, with a new phase being added on.
HGVC Seaworld is also very nice.
The Fountains at Oasis Lakes and The Fountains are probably the same resort. It was Oasis Lakes, then Blue/Green took it over and renamed it The Fountains. It looks nice from the outside (never been in it), and is in a good location (near VV). I think they are also adding on here. And a new resort is under construction next door.
Worldmark also looks very nice from the outside, and is also near VV and Oasis Lakes. It has two signs on it: Worldmark, and Crown Plaza Kingstown Reef, so not sure exactly what the affiliation status is with this resort.
Cypress Harbour is probably Marriott's Cypress Harbour. Normally this would only be thru II, but it's been around for awhile, and probably originally was with RCI. It's very nice. Last time I was there, they were refurbishing the units (don't know if they finished yet or not - so if you go there, ask for a refurbished unit).
Of that list, my top four choices would be HGVC I-drive, BC, VV, and HGVC-SW.

I agree with dvc_john's thoughts here. :)

FWIW, Worldmark took over the Kingstown Reef as the management company. So this resort trades under both names (two RCI ID #s) and it's dual affiliated with both RCI & II. Also, there are several Marriotts that occasionally show up in RCI without the Marriott name - Cypress Harbour, Sabal Palms & Royal Palms (last 2 share grounds with the MOWC hotel). Fountains/Oasis Lakes condos are very pretty inside. They have 1BRs for 4, 2BRs for 6 and 2BRs for 8, the latter (for 8) being more plush. And this is one Orlando area timeshare with an indoor/outdoor pool - nice!

Holdem, the FF Bonnet Creek resort has their main pool area open (zero-entry pool, lazy river, hot tubs, children's water play area, snack bar), fitness area, indoor children's game room (supervised on a schedule) & billiards room all operating. They do have limited scheduled transportation to the Disney parks.

Newer phases will include playgrounds, picnic areas, 2 more pool areas, clubhouse, minigolf, health club, basketball & sauna. But none of these are completed yet.

If you need a timeshare resort with transportation to both Disney and other theme parks, FF's Cypress Palms has it - again VERY limited, but inexpensive and it's there if you need it, reserved the day before. This one is in Kissimmee, about 5-6 miles east of Disney.

Anybody with experience at Summer Bay Resorts?

We're going to be staying there in October and visiting Disney for the first time.

We are planning(depending on hurricanes and gas prices!) on staying at Summer Bay in Late September/Oct. It looks beautiful on the website!! I would like to know if you can request the newer section upon arrival?
