Best timeshare/low pressure stay?

Hello everyone,

I am trying to identify any and all timeshares that we (my dd(10) and I) can rent for an upcoming surprise Christmas trip. I am attempting to split my stay between an offsite and renting DVC points for Old Key West. Could anyone recommend timeshare stays with presentations that were not overwhelming or very high pressured?

Thanks,
MsMulan

One vote toward Orange Lake Resorts. DH and I did this resort in about one hour 10-15 minutes $130. We had a really nice presenter - who understood why we were there. I did hear that Marriotts were low pressure too.

I'm also interested in this question. What about Vistana? I'm looking for something fairly close to Disney parks, and for at least 5 nights for 5 people.

Even though I am am owner at Orange Lake, I would not call it low pressure. It really depends on the salesperson as some sales people do put on a lot of pressure whereas others are more low key. I would consider it medium pressure. The worst presentations that I've had were at Summer Bay and Vacation Village at Parkway. I stayed at the Villas at Summer Bay and it the first time that I have came across a resort that I really disliked (the unit needed renovation very bad with worn carpet, water damage in the bathroom, junk sprewing out of the bathtub - probably the same reason there was water damage in the bathroom - , and maintenance's ho-hum attitude when reported). The presentation at Hilton's Grand Vacation Village was low pressure.

I took the Vistana Resort's presentation a few year ago; I would consider it low pressure. True, there were reminders of the benefits of buying throughout the presentation should you decide to buy but it was never dragged out.

I would imagine that you could rent a condo or townhome offsite from a private owner for not much more money than a "special preview" timeshare offer would cost, and it would be much more pleasant.

Plus, many of the "preview" offers that include a unit *in the timeshare* (instead of some marginal hotel nearby) will only be available during low-occupancy periods. And, Christmas is *not* one of them.
