Best times for evening meal?

We are going August 14th - 18th, and I have booked meals for 8pm every night. Dream parade is on at 7.15pm, followed by Fanti at 10.15pm, Candle then Wishes. I thought we'd slot dinner in very nicely between parades, but would everyone else have the same idea? Will it be manic in the restaurants? Would this be a good time to catch shorter queues? Would it be better in fact to eat earlier, to be out in time for Dream at 7.15pm, in which case what time should we go for to be out in time to get a parade spot?

Thanks for any input/suggestions. :)

Any meal time will be busy at that time of year. 8 sounds good to me though. Most Brits choose earlier, a lot of continentals choose later. And because they are table service restaurants, it should cut out a lot of the hustle and bustle. If the kids can cope with eating at that time, go for it.

Your quietest ride times will be 1st hour after opening and from about 9pm onwards.

Oh, and what we tend to to do for the best experience is have a table service meal at about 3pm and then just snack in the evening. The seems to work best to recharge our batteries and miss the crowds.

Yes, no problem with our human dynamo DS, at 6 yrs old he can go for longer than either of us!

I'm just wanting it all really - I don't want to miss the parades, but neither do I want to miss out on quieter ride times. If they don't go quieter til after 9pm, then 8pm would seem like a good eating time, I'm thinking. :confused3

We're so used to the shorter opening hours, when we can eat at DV after park closing, that I can't get used to the idea of actually eating while rides are open! Your eating at 3pm is a pretty good idea too, thanks for the response.

Duh! I was a bit silly and booked our meals for 7pm (most of them anyway). We're going with a 5-year old and 10 month old baby who always eat at the same time and get really grumpy if they don't eat around 7 so yeah... I guess we can cancel one or two dinners to watch the parade and feed the baby dinner while watching it:laughing:

8 is probably the best time if your little one can cope.

Have a great time!

Ema - only 3 sleeps to go!

We had 2 main meals at lunch time when we were there last time. It gave us a welcome break from the crowds and meant we werent fighting for service in the evening when everyone else was eating. We then grabbed a snack in the evening. You could eat this while waiting for the parade.
