We currently are going the Wed. after Thanksgiving 2007, but it seems that a lot of people are going then too and that there are a lot of events. Now I see that Disney is promoting the week before Thanksgiving as a low crowd time-- after Food and Wine ends but before Thanksgivng rush. When do you think the slow time is and why? Thanks!

They are both very slow, so I would pick between the two based on other factors. This year, not everything Xmas-y was up/operating the week before Thanksgiving, but it was all up the week after. The week before, on average, is a little warmer than the week after...

Try the week before-- weather probably will be a little warmer. We were there till 11/ 6 and the Xmas decorations were already up, so you wont miss them by going earlier, if that's a conern at all.

We have been the week after for the last three years. Love seeing all the Christmas decorations but if they are up before Thanksgiving that would be good. The crowds are not bad at all after. I also like the MVMCP but I think that that will start before Thanksgiving too.

Both are good weeks. What about travel dates around Thanksgiving. Would youhave to fly on those busy days?

Just got back last night from our 11/24 - 12/2 trip. Except for the Friday & Saturday after Thanksgiving (which I knew would be crowded), we waited for nothing! Not NEMO, not Expedition Everest, not even Soarin'. Well we did get to Eversest & Soarin' at park opening and got a Fast Pass. We went in the stand by line and then rode again immediately after we got off using the Fast Pass.

IMHO, this is a very good time to go - yes the resorts may be full, but the parks are not!

We just got back from our trip 11/24-12/3. It is my favorite time to visit disney. We had no more than a ten minute wait for anything ever. It was 80 and above everyday. Saturday the 2nd was a little busy because they are filming the xmas parade. We actually won Dream fast passes 2 days in a row. One at the magic kingdom and one at Mgm. The only problem was there were never lines so we didnt even have to use them. The kids were actually disappointed they couldnt use them. We had a wonderful time though and i highly recommend this week.

I'm thinking about the week prior to Thanksgiving as well. December is just to busy of a time with church, work, family, parties etc.

We also just got back. We were gone 11/24 until 12/2. We flew on Friday morning and the airport wasn't crowded at all. People who came that Sunday said that the airport was crazy. Of course we had done Magical Express, so we didn't see our luggage after checking it at the airport until it arrived in our room. The parks were crowded Fri & Sat, but by Sunday they had thinned out pretty good. So I thought it was a pretty good week to be gone. The weather was warm enough for shorts everyday. We wore pants the first evening for the late hours at Epcot and a jacket. The next couple of nights we also took jackets with us, after that we didn't even need jackets at night.

We were there the 12th-19th and the crowds were great. As Friday and Saturday approached (the weekend before Thanksgiving), the crowds got larger. During the week though, we only had to use FastPasses a couple of times. Most things were walk on or a 10-15 minute wait. I'm hopefully taking another trip the same week next year.
