When is the best time to start waiting on Main St for a curbside spot? We are going to the first parade on Friday.

Interested in hearing what others think about this?

Especially, if going to the 1st parade

At least 35-40 minutes. If you wanted to watch from somewhere else, about 25.

Not the normal parade but the Christmas one. I remember waiting at least 2 hrs last time we went 4 years ago.

We were also there 4 years ago and people were finding places along Main Street as soon as they entered the park.

Main Street, along the curb, was full by 6:00.

I play it by ear. I just watch the parade route as I go throughout my day and when it starts to fill up, I decide it's time to grab mine.

Second parade last year we got a great spot on Main Street about 45 minutes before I believe. People will be lined up super early for the first one if you want a curb spot.

What do you mean by 2 parades? I am a little confused or over whelmed one of the 2.

Thanks for reporting in and glad you found a good spot... 2 1/2 hours early!

Yes it was excessive but I wanted to be sure I got a good seat for our kids. There were several times we had to fend off people from taking our spots. Unfortunately my twin girls fell asleep before it started... :( At least I got video for them to see. My son loved it though.

Maybe we just got lucky but last year we found a spot on Main Street about 15 minutes before. I’m not sure I would want wait for two hours instead of enjoying the rest of the party.

Whoa, this is really disheartening. My group has five children under age 6 and we were hoping to watch the parade with them able to sit on the curb, but there's no way we can ask them to sit still for 2 hours of waiting, plus that means that getting a photo with a really popular character(s) like 7 Dwarfs is probably not going to happen either.

Yes, I agree and it's making me re-think the party. The main reasons for going are the parade and fireworks for us, but I don't want to wait 2 hours for the parade (DH and DS10 simply won't do it). I was hoping we could find a spot maybe 30 minutes before. I'm also a little concerned about the time between the parade and fireworks. I don't really want to wait an hour for Wishes, but I'm afraid if we leave our parade spot, try to do something, and then come back, all of the spots will be gone. I may just skip the party and watches the fireworks from a MK resort :(
