Best Time to Sign Up for a Disney Visa?

I am interested in signing up for a Disney Visa. I've heard of random folks getting letters with a "free 200 Disney rewards points with the first use of this credit card, which can be redeemed for a $200 gift card" offer.

I just called Chase and verified the $100 Statement Credit offer is still active:

... as well as the slightly less impressive $100 Disney Gift Card offer:

Is the $100 deal the best I should hope for? How do I get on the mailing list for the $200 deal?

The 200 deals are a little hard to come by. The marketing folks have very specific and secret criteria they use to send those out.

If you can get the 100 deal, I say go for it. It certainly beats the 20/30/40/50 dolllar offers that are out there.

Thanks Bridget. Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised to see the $100 deals from the 2009 Disboards thread were still active when I called last night.

My Shell Mastercard earns a 5% rebate on gas, but only a 0.5% rebate on all other purchases. So I will be signing up for and using the Disney Visa card for those non-gas purchases, earning 1% in Disney Dollars.

I got the letter for $200 a few weeks ago. I found it odd since I had just applied for the Disney Visa the week before. We've also been to Disney twice this year and already had our third trip planned (all within the span of 1 year). I guess they thought we were a good risk :) luckily we applied for another card using my DH's name.

I signed up for the planning DVD and then a few weeks later received the $200 offer...I also signed hubby up for the planning DVD (hoping increase the chance of a pin offer) and we got another $200 offer...So try getting the planning DVD first
