Having been to Disney at least 12 times or more during my life, I have never been on Dumbo. Everytime I go there is a really long ride and I perfer to do other stuff than ride on Dumbo for two minutes after a loooong wait. My Question is this-When is the best time to ride Dumbo? Is this a ride that is open during the extra hours? I know that Aladdin is basically the same as Dumbo but I dunno it just isn't Dumbo. Silly,I know but this is my last time going to Disney for a very long time,I just gotta ride Dumbo!

I would say if you get to the park early, go there in the morning. I took my DD on it for her first time last month, and we went before lunchtime and the wait was not bad too bad. I've seen the line much worse. But we only waited about 20 min. It is definitely one of those rides you just need to do.

I'd try going late at night during the parade. We went right after the parade around 10 and had to wait a 1/2 hour, but i bet if you go during the parade or wishes you could walk right on.

Try going around 6pm or after.

We went to Fantasyland right at opening and the line for Dumbo was 40 minutes, but when we went back after 6pm, maybe 6:30pm the line was only 10 minutes. This was on a week day. In fact there weren't any lines for much of anything in Fantasyland, even Pooh or Small World at that time.

Early in the morning or later in the evening has always worked well for us.

Go first thingin the morning. Make a bee line to fantasy land...wait will be less than ten minutes.

Dumbo is always our first ride of every trip. We get there at park opening. When we first soar up into the air, we know we are home.. .sniff sniff :rotfl:

we like to go on early entry day and ride dumbo first
hardly any wait only way to guarantee kids get to ride dumbo and me too
gotta love this ride

We would always ride Dumbo first thing when the park opened. I don't think our wait was ever more than 10 minutes.

Enjoy! :sunny:

we've always done Dumbo either immediately at park opening or late, like during the fireworks. Most people are around main street and the castle for the fireworks so the wait is short plus it's extra special riding it with a big canopy of fireworks over your head :goodvibes

We always ride it the first thing in the morning too. We wait for the rope drop in the back of th castle then it is right to Dumbo ride. :goodvibes

First thing in the morning when the rope drops. The last two trips, we were the first people on line! :cool1:

How long does it take to walk from the front gates to the Dumbo Ride? We are making a bee line straight for the Dumbo ride since we are going at the busyest time of the year, it is such a popular ride and this is the first time I have been back since 1974. My daughter's first trip this year!

We got in line about 15 minutes after park opening (we were at an early breakfast at CP and had to wait for Tigger to get to our table!). I think we waited 15 or 20 minutes. The wait went quickly because we used that time to apply sunscreen to the 4 of us.

We cannot visit Disney World and NOT go on Dumbo. My 55 year old DH would be devastated. Dumbo is our first ride every year during the Magic Kingdom's Extra Morning Hour. Ocassionally, we will even get on it once at night during the extra evening hours.

We were in the castle for rope drop due to a 8 AM appt at BBBoutique. So as soon as they dropped the rope at 9AM we were able to run to Dumbo and be one of the first families on it for the day. It was absolutely wonderful. This is the way I would do it again if I could.

I think very first thing in the morning is the best. You need to be there at rope drop and go straight to Dumbo, though, because that line builds quickly. We walked right on at a 7 am EMH during easter week - there were even empty elephants, and this was during one of the most crowded weeks of the year.

In the castle? there is an inside to the castle? The last time I was at the castle way back in 1974 there was no Inside the castle. Are there photos anywhere of inside the castle? Is BBB inside the castle? Sorry, I am being a bit of a freak over this but Cinderella's castle is such a HUGE deal to me! So, please excuse my freakyness.:yay: :yay:
