Best time to go?

We are debating when to visit Disney World this year. In the past, we went the week after labor day and it was wonderful--no crowds but also very warm. At the time, our daughter will be nearly 5 and our son will be just shy of 2. Would October or even early November be a cooler time and still not terribly crowded? Will the water parks still be open and weather nice enough?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Our very favorite time to go is January. It is cool, can be cold, but there are NO crowds. DS swims in December and January in the WDW resort pools that are heated but it is not your typical swim weather. I have been in March, July (never again), early December (nice but no longer as uncrowed as it once was) and January (AFter the new year and before MLK day. January wins our vote hands down. My sisters family has done both October and November and found October both hotter and more crowded. WE might get to go 2nd week of November this year and research shows it to be a nice time.

I have to agree with the previous poster. We went to Disney on our honeymoon in Jan of 1996 and are planning our 10 yr anniversary trip for Jan 2006 (4 kids this go round...10 yrs changes things :rotfl: )

I have been to WDW previously in May, August and January and by far January was the least crowded. The weather was plesant on our trip in January...but you do have to consider it more than say you would in July when you know it will be 410*. :) But jeans and a long sleeved shirt was sufficent. We also swam in our pool in January on one of the warmer (mid 70's) days.

I have to put a vote in for October. That's when we usually go. The weather is PERFECT. Still shorts and tshirts...but not blistering hot nor shoulder to shoulder crowded. For our honeymoon we went the first week of October...Last year we did Halloween at WDW. Both times crowds were reasonable..and the weather was just amazing. I've got a feeling May is going to be TOTALLY different!!!

Love late October-early November. It's my new fave time to visit WDW. Weather has cooled, crowds are manageable, F&W Festival and MNSSHP add extra fun activities. Love it!

My vote goes for late Jan. or early Feb. The weather can be mid 70's to low 80's (but in Jan. there could be a few colder days) but can you can still swim, there's no crowds, and you can go on everything. Really, you can get more for your money at those times. Went in July last year (UGH!) and have to this year as well. (9 yo in school), but before my youngest goes to school we'll go down again in early Feb. so she can see all of the parks and do everything w/o having to wait in lines and sweat to death. We'll take the other one out of school as well.
