hi we usually go to cafe mickey for lunch however this time thinking of going for dinner in the eveing, just wondering what time would be the best? I.e when does it start to get busy? thinking if we arrive before it gets busy we can get some better interaction with the charaters?

When we went at lunch there was only 5 familys in and it was excellent however we want to make the day a bit longer this time now dd is a bit older.

i disagree, get there early when its quieter for much better and longer charcter interaction. we had pluto and tigger fighting on the floor over my dughter's belle doll, it was hilarious.!!! We booked for 6.30pm and there were approx 5 tables upstairs with diners and the characters spent loads of time with us all as there was space for them to mess about around the tables. by 8pm the tables were nearly all busy and kids were calling the characters and trying to grab their attention and the waiters were pushing past and trying to get by, it was quite chaotic. go early, take you time with the meal as the characters come and go, take a break and come back. we stayed till 9pm

sorry I don't under stand what you are disagreeing with.. my question was what time would be best to go for dinner before it gets busy

as orginaly said "thinking if we arrive before it gets busy we can get some better interaction with the charaters?"

so I guess your reply is 6.30pm, but what do you disagree with?

sorry, blame it on the lack of sleep last night, i thought you wrote, 'get there when its busy for better interaction'. silly me. i'm on the same wave length as you now i have re-read it. my reply is yes i think getting there before it gets busy will be better for you. i think you get a better chance of getting autographs too as the charachters will have more time and space to dance around the tables.

0k :goodvibes ..well I just phoned and booked for 6.30

We booked for 6.30pm. It WAS busy at this time - every table was taken. However it still didn't make it too manic. The characters arrived after approx 15-20 minutes. We made sure we had a starter (I noticed most families did not) and we really did take our time and ate slowly.

This was a little sneaky I know, but it meant that we eeked out our meal long enough that we were there for 'second sitting' and we got to see the next set of characters come out (they were different ones to the first).

So my tip would be - if you are going in the evening, expect that it may still be busy and take advantage of the fact that your water has more tables to serve and eat slowly!;)

hi, thank you for letting me know, we have been to cafe mickey 3x all in the day and only once was it very busy however this was on the Saturday before Christmas so everywhere was busy, we still got some good pictures and the characters put on a bit of a show which was very funny. The characters just posed for a picture then moved on, which was fine.

The other times we went it was almost empty and it took us ages to eat as a character was always at a table, my dd has great memories of this meal, pinocchio kept tickleing me and baloo tried to steal my sisters Ice cream. I guess we were extremly lucky at these meals.

This time we are staying at DLH so I will go down to breakfast early and hopefully we will get some great pictures then and from your trippies I know to pop back at 4.pm :goodvibes

You will find that the characters at DLH breakfast are pretty attentive! There is less of a scrum of children clambering to get to them and people seem happier to sit and WAIT for the characters to make their way around. Also outside of the breakfast area you can meet other characters to get an autograph (normally 2 -3 characters) and there is a photo-opportunity in front of the fireplace for one character (this has an orderly line!)each morning. Plus the 4 o'clock meet and greet! We by far, had the best character interaction at the hotel!!!!! This is where staying at DLH comes into it's own :teeth: :thumbsup2
