Best time to go? mid-June vs. late Aug?

Due to school and work schedules the only times we can go this year are the 2-3 weeks of June or 3-4 weeks of August. We have only visited in May. Which time would be better for crowds and heat/humidity? We are traveling with an infant, so both are equally important.

I've been the 3rd week of August with my 2 sons who were 5 yrs old and 20 months old at the time. I think the summer is going to be hot no matter when you go. The upside of going as late in August as you can is that the crowds really thin out but the downside is perhaps more rain and the chance of a hurricane. I'd rather deal with fewer people but if the threat of hurricanes is a bother then pick June. Tough call!

Our first trip to WDW was in '96 and we went for the entire of week of the 4th of July! You heard me right, the 4th of July. Talk about young AND stupid...guess one of the reasons was because the Holiday added onto our vacation.

Talk about lots of people and not just people (not to offend, but people from FAR away places that I guess haven't invented deodorant). Man, was that an eye-opener all on its own.

Anyway, you can ALL rest well knowing that our time of stupidity has hopefully lapsed and we will be going bk this year (June 18th-26th). Hard to do as it was, we did NOT choose the wk of the 4th.

We looked at this time as good for us because hopefully temp's wouldn't be at their highest boiling point yet and we like to start our vacations earlier than later (guess sailing on DCL's kind of got us used to going in June, since that first wk is still in their cheaper range of prices).

Anyways, I'm sure anytime you choose will be perfect for your family, but IMO, I would stay away from July 4th. (One lesson learned the hard way)
