We're looking to book a 4 day trip sometime in January, February or March- any suggestions on a specific time/month? In 2014, we visited during the first week of November and were pleasantly surprised by the lack of crowds, and hope to see that again. Thanks for any suggestions!

it all depends on what attractions you can miss and what you require for the magic....the later you go into the year, the few the closures. The later you go into the year the longer the hours, the later you go into the year, more likley you miss the rain. As for the crowds, shorter hours just bunch everyone up. but you will find the first week of nov in those three months.

Check this thread out for some of the things related to those months.

It might help you decide on when to book your trip.

I'd go on weekdays. Weekends are definitely busier.

Bayou might want to try the first two weeks of March. By mid-March, so many kids are starting Spring break. Almost all the schools in Southern Alberta have their Spring break one of those last two weeks.

Also, if you are just starting to plan and you are planning on staying in a non-Disney hotel you may want to want to avoid the last half March as several hotels are full or nearly full.

We used to do our annual trips the last week of February. There were shorter hours and closures but it was worth it to us because the crowds were so reasonable. Rarely a wait over 30 minutes. I don't know if that's true these days, seems all bets are off as far as crowd predictions as the 'off season' is slowing disappearing.

Here is my preferred dates to avoid most holidays and breaks, and special events.

January 23rd through February 9th

February 27th through March 9th.

We went this past Feb for a couple of days during the week and it was not very crowded, and the weather was very nice. I would avoid March altogether, we live in a ski resort area and here all of March is busy - never been to DLR in March but I guess it would be as crowded. We figure it is people taking longer than a week for Spring Break or trying to avoid SB crowds (without success).
