Best time to go in November

I am thinking of a DL trip in November of '09 (I know, so far away!!). This year is out because we already have a few vacations planned. So, what is the best time in November to go? My daughters will have the entire month of for track break. We really like to avoid heavy crowds as much as possible, but I know that seems to be harder and harder with so many schools on track break, etc.
Also, in general, what is the weather like in November? Are the Christmas decorations up yet?
We have been in February and October and have found nice weather and not too bad of crowds. Just hoping for the same in November . . .
Thanks for your help! :goodvibes

For Nov. 2009, I would choose the week after Thanksgiving -- Nov 30-Dec 4. You should have low crowds mid-week, fireworks nightly, and be able to catch Fantasmic on Friday night. The CP should be Dec 5-6, with CM parties the Monday and Tuesday after.

If they are back in school that week, I would then choose the week prior to Thanksgiving, using the same strategy of Mon-Fri, knowing that F! will be on Fri night.

We enjoyed our trip in the first week in November (like 3-7 maybe?) in 2005. It was very quiet. Some of the holiday decorations are going up, and you have the Haunted Mansion Holiday. IASW will be closed though due to the holiday set up. They will have it decorated outside already so that's fun to see but if you care about seeing the inside you might have to check a schedule to find out when it opens.

If you have the whole month to choose from, avoid the Veteran's Day weekend and the Thanksgiving week and weekends and I think you will be okay.

I agree with DangerMouse, I'd choose the week after Thanksgiving because the Christmas decorations go up and it's even more magical decked out for the holidays plus crowds are almost nonexistant and you can walk onto all the rides.

We went the week before Thanksgiving last year and all the decorations were already up and the crowds were low (after Veteran's Day).

I think if you go any time between Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving or the week after Thanksgiving, it should be fine and most likely the holiday decorations should be up.

The weather for us was great. It was cooler in the evenings, but still nice and warm during the day.

I agree with the previous posters - I'd choose the week after Thanksgiving as my first choice, with the week before Thanksgiving as my second choice. Just stay away from the week *of* Thanksgiving!!!

First week of November would be fine, too, but you won't have the Christmas decorations that will be up if you wait until later in the month. And DL is so magical at Christmas time!

The weather can be hot (80s) or it can be cool (50s during the day, 30s at night). Of course, if it's in the 80s during the day it's still likely to get into the 40s at night at that time of year, LOL!!! So dress in layers and bring clothes appropriate for both extremes. It's not likely to rain at all at that time of year, and even if it does it shouldn't last more than half a day. The advantage of being there when it rains is that the locals stay away (yes, we are wimps, though I also don't like being on the freeways in the rain - too many crazy drivers!), so the parks are pretty empty!

Is Thanksgiving Week a really bad time to go? Why? Very busy or other reasons....Help please. This is our first trip and we have one child - 6 years old.

For the last 2 years, we've gone the weekend before Thanksgiving. Last year we went Friday-Monday. Its not super busy and the decorations are up. Its just beautiful!
