Best time to go in May? Hard to book BCV?

I'd like to take my then 2 year old to Disney next May-- is this a good time to go for crowds and weather? Will I have trouble booking a 1 br at BCV at the 7 month window if I call day by day and am flexible on my dates? Since I imagine we'll be at the pool most of the week, getting BCV is super important since it's such an amazing pool complex.

Yes, I'm one of those terrible SSR owners that prefers other resorts. What can I tell you.

The week prior to and the week after Memorial Day holiday will probably be busier times. Keep in mind that BCV is one of the smallest DVC resorts and can be more difficult to get. BTW, are you talking about May 2008 or 2009?

I love going to Disney in early May. My experience has been that the crowds are lower because spring breakers are gone and kids aren't yet out of school for the summer. It's also warm but not terribly hot. It's our favorite time of the year to go.

We went May 5-11 last year and it was great. We have run into a little bit of a crowd issue around Mother's Day, and as the prior poster indicated, Memorial Day is tough as well.

We booked a one bedroom and a two bedroom at BCV at the 7 month mark this year and didn't have a problem whatsoever. We were slightly flexible with our dates, but didn't have to be because they had exactly what we wanted.

We were down the first weekend in May 2007(kids had a long weekend due to inservice/special election). We waitlisted VWL in early December for the trip and it came through in about 3 weeks. Wonderful time to go IMHO.

I really wish we could plan a trip for this May but I'm out of points. So we're talking 2009. I don't know what is more sad-- that we're out of points or that I"m planning a trip 16 months in advance.

I booked Memorial Day weekend at BCV for this May 2008. I originally booked at BWV (my home resort) at 11 months, and then switched at 7 month to BCV - we check in on Memorial Day, and check out the following Monday (June 2nd). I had no issues except for the Sunday before Memorial Day - this was fully booked at BCV, so we're still at BWV our first night, and then switch to BCV. I booked a 2 bedroom, and I did call day by day. Also - could not get a dedicated 2 bedroom, so we have a lock-off.
