Best time to go in June?

Just back from Christmas trip and dh says we can go next June (2006!). We get out of school May 26th (yep, I've already got the calendar!)..........so would it be best to leave that weekend and stay through June 4th, or with that being a holiday weekend would it be better to go June 3rd-11th? Don't want to wait much longer than that as it'll be getting hotter and hotter!

I would go with June 3-11 to avoid the holiday weekend crowds. We've been twice during that time, and it's not too crowded yet. We've been the next week also, and there's a noticeable increase in crowds.

It'll be hot, and it will probably rain every afternoon, but the parks are open later than in December. We don't take afternoon breaks during our December trips, but we definitely take breaks in June to get out of the heat and the crowds. Those afternoon breaks are a good time to go for a swim or take a nap.

The northeast and midwest folks generally do not get out of school until mid or even late June. I think you would be fine either way. You are so lucky! Have fun planning

As Kaycee said, the earlier the better. Bring plenty of rain gear!

We go every year as soon as we (kids and I) get out of school. The first two weeks of June are great. The MK gets crowded especially on weekends, but the rest of the parks are great.

It does rain every day like the others have said, so be prepared for that. There is also a "special event" (Gay days)the first weekend of June. If that bothers you, you might want to wait till it is over. It has never bothered us.. except for the fact that the parks are a bit more crowded. We just get the schedule and go to a different park so it isn't as crowded.

Other than that it is a wonderful time of the year to go. Warm, parks open later, not horribly crowded yet you still have the benefits the summer crowds get AND ya can't beat the flower and garden show at Epcot.. sooo pretty.

Gay days is not that bad. We arrived this year the Friday that it was going on. Noticed a slightly larger crowd than normal at the CR, the hotel even put flyers in the rooms encouraging us to take advantage of the EE at MGM for Saturday because they anticipated high crowds at MK. With Fast Pass we had no problems at MK. Just make sure to make your PS's in advance though!

I'd probably try to avoid the holiday, if you can. It really shouldn't make too much of a difference temperature-wise, but it may be a little less crowded if you wait and go the following week. It's really not that bad in early June with the crowds. It's certainly not like Nov/early December, but it's manageable.
