Best time to go during December - 1st or 2nd week??

It can't be that crowded. I literally, just a week ago, just booked at the CR. And everyone knows how the CR fills up very quickly. And if there is rooms still available there, then that says something. They had rooms available at every resort for the 2nd week in December, and this is only a month before that time!

I am trying to get a room from 12/7-9 and there is nothing except some 2bedrooms at OKW....no value or mod rooms at all...if you hear different please let me know asap....

Huh???? This was NOT our experience. These two weeks have the lowest attendance all year!

When we went, it was wonderful--NO crowds, NO lines, NO waiting. The Unofficial Guide is predicting record low crowds up until December 23, when it starts filling up.

Enjoy this time of year, it's wonderful there!

Lowest attendance compared to even heavier crowds, yes. However this year Disney has experienced record crowds all year and I really believe it will extend all thru Dec. Yes it will be less than other times of the year, but it won't be uncrowded especially on weekends.

We go often right after Thanksgiving and before Christmas. The crowds are always low, very low, sometimes. Think of it this way, folks go for Thanksgiving and they go for Christmas but how many of them can afford the money or time to stay for the entire time? They have to go home sometime and most people, if they are going that time of year want to be there for one of the holidays so that leaves the time in between pretty vacant.

The rates are the best then ($49 for us), the crowds are low, and the decorations are all up, what is there NOT to love???

We are booked in from December 9th (after Pop Warner) until the 19th so I say the second week of December is the best time to go cause I want ALL my DISer friends to be there with me!!

3 years ago we went Dec 12th-18th...it was pretty quiet, but Thursday Dec 16th (my DD's birthday, how I remember ) is when it was noticably picking
up...that night we were at MVMCP and it was PACKED!! This year we are going to be there Dec 2nd-8th, MVMCP on Tuesday the 4th. Here's hoping for a great trip!!

We where there last year from the 8th to the 15th and the weather was wonderful and there where no crowds for what I would consider crowds for Disney. At IOA and US, it was literally walking on rides...I rode the AAoS like seven or eight times in a row...was able to walk into Mythos and get an immediate table. Now Disney all the reservations where taken.

I talked to my TA in Sept-Oct of this year about getting a room at WL in Dec. 2008 - see my ticker- and they were all booked. I ended up at FW cabins, which I really like anyway. My point is to book your room ASAP. I even gave my TA dates for our 2009 trip, to book as soon as she could.

In 04 and 05 we went the second week and in 06 the first week of Dec and the first week is much quieter than the second...just avoid the parade taping, what a nightmare!
